In The Warmth of Library (II)

Before their lips could have made contact, Lucian stopped her. His hands gripped her shoulders as he kept her in place, locking his gaze with hers.

"What are you doing?" He demanded in a low, deep growl like voice.

"Is it that hard to understand?" Seraphina found herself asking back in response.

Her heart was going crazy within the confinement of her chest. She still clearly remembered how he refused to continue last time, claiming that she wasn't ready for him.

Was he going to do the same again? She found herself wondering.

She noticed as his breathing changed. There was a war going on in his deep ocean blue eyes, one that she wanted to win.

It's time for him to stop dancing around the unbearable tension and break it.

He leaned closer, his mouth only inches from hers. "And I'm telling you that I'm the last thing you can handle right now. Don't. Push. Me!"
