"You don't seem like someone who can do anything bad at all," Raven responded, his voice a low rumble that seemed to vibrate through the very air of the pool room.

Seraphina paused, her lips curling into a smirk. "You underestimate me way too much," she said, her voice steady despite the simmering emotions. "You should have seen my file as a mortal in the Afterlife Council. Then, you would have known that I have done very terrible things. Maybe more than you can even imagine."

Raven's expression remained unchanged. If he felt surprised by her confession, he didn't let it show on his face. As always, he was good at hiding his true thoughts and emotions, making it impossible for her to get a hold over what he wanted to do.

She watched him studying her with an intensity that made her pulse quicken. His gaze was unwavering, like a predator assessing its prey.
