Darkest Hour of Night (II)

Pain...

It was faint at first, almost unnoticeable. But then it started growing stronger.

Seraphina squirmed in her sleep, a frown creasing her forehead and a slight sheen of sweat decorated her facr. Her body went stiff as the dream, or whatever it was that she was experiencing, started taking over her body and mind.

The darkness behind her closed eyes grew stronger and she suddenly found herself extra aware of her surroundings. At first, there was silence, but seconds later, her ears registered some muffled groans of pain.

She darted her gaze around, but all she saw was the darkness. The more she heard those painful cries, the more tensed she became as she found them somehow familiar.

Yet, no matter how hard she tried, she was unable to pinpoint the identity of the person who was supposedly in extreme pain somewhere in that darkness.

"Hello!"
