Raven must have sensed her turmoil because he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "He's angry because of the mark," he explained softly. "He can feel it. His wolf can feel it. Lucian has marked you, and now Arwan's wolf can't handle that fact."
Seraphina's throat tightened with emotion. She opened her mouth to speak, to apologize, to explain, but the words wouldn't come. How could she possibly explain? What should she explain? She never thought that something like this could happen.
Lucian stepped forward, his voice calm but commanding. "Raven's right. We should give him space," he said, his gaze flicking briefly to her before landing on Arwan once more. "We will go upstairs and let them handle this."
She hesitated, her was heart torn. But she knew he was right. There was nothing she could do right now that wouldn't make things worse. With a heavy heart, she allowed Lucian to guide her back upstairs, leaving Kethan and Raven to try and calm Arwan.
