Seraphina's heart raced as she felt his arm tighten around her waist. His words echoed in her mind, making her pulse quicken. The closeness between them, the intensity of his gaze, and the way his voice lowered made everything feel too real, too dangerous.

She could feel the heat radiating off him, his breath warm on her face as he stared down at her, waiting for a response.

She opened her mouth to say something - anything - but no words came out. Her mind was too clouded with emotions she couldn't name. Her body, usually filled with an almost painful awareness of her surroundings, was now entirely focused on him. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them locked in this tense, almost electric moment.

"I…" she began, but her voice faltered. What could she say? Deny the effect he had on her? Pretend she wasn't feeling the pull, the magnetic attraction that seemed to grow stronger the longer they stood together?
