I tipped the cab driver with the last bit of change in my inner pocket, and walked away as he sped off from the estate. Seeking warmth from the cold morning, my fingers slept in my pants front pockets, feeling my skin against the thin fabric.

I should've gone with Davien's grey hoodie.

"Right this way, the young master has been expecting you." Flock announced at the main entrance, attempting to take my jacket off of me, but I stopped him from doing so.

"I'm fine."

"I see, but the young master is very…upset. Your flight was meant to depart last night, he went into a fit of rage when you did not arrive at the manor, like you promised to." Flock briefed, prepping me for the side of Keith I would be faced with.

Stepping into the manor I said, "I was held up with something."

He followed strictly, "Something permanently resolved I hope?"
