Professor Nicholas is killed for speaking out against the tyranny of his government, but he is reborn with his memories intact due to a system error. He lives his second life in the primitive land of the Nozul Islands as Linus Stannous, a local chief's son. 

Life seems peaceful as the young Linus spends his idle time learning about his new world. But in his tenth year, the System starts interacting with him, giving him game-esque quests with rewards for their accomplishment. To add to the complication, his usual leisurely life is brought to an abrupt end when the enemies of the Nozulian peoples invade. 

At this point, Linus finds his purpose as he uses his broad knowledge of anthropology, civics, and technological evolution together with the power of the System to come up with innovative solusions to transform his Nozulian hometown, Solus, and defend it from invading forces. Inadvertently, his interference ends up affecting not only his people’s fates but the others’ as well.

<p>Over a cup of tea, Gordon told Linus what happened during the riot, highlighting the contributions of Samir, the chemists, and the older schoolboys in their escape. He also expressed his regret over the ruined school building. Although his expanded home can host the students for the meantime, he was remorseful of the loss of the teaching aids and other instructional materials in the facility.</p>

<p>Likewise, the chemists felt down about the incident after losing precious lab equipment and supplies. Lily, too, was in tears as if the world had just ended when reminded of the fateful night. After all, she had invested much time and effort in her research of new compounds only for all of those to evaporate in an instant. The atmosphere was heavy, and many felt intense hatred of Vincent and the rioters for turning the school into charred ruins.</p>
