Conspiracy

It was only a couple of days after the expedition, but Linus already received the news of the fall of Oakwood. To brighten the gloomy atmosphere in Solus City, the magistrate ensured that the townsfolk would know about it. By Nozulian standards, siege battles lasting only a day were unheard of, which cheered the Solusians aplenty. For the few of the townsfolk who knew of the real might of the hot weapons, including Nina, the news only came out as expected and wasn't enough to cheer up their mood.

Linus was lost, trying to come up with ways to cheer up his lover who was still grieving the loss of her uncle, Gordon. He tried giving her gifts, but to no avail. He was only turned away as the lass kicked her out of her study whenever he attempted to comfort her. The newly appointed magistrate had to bribe his sister, Helena, with presents to keep Nina company, which the girl was too eager to accept.
