Selene's feet came to an abrupt stop. She released a sharp breath and gave a nod of greeting. "I apologize for the delay."

"Apology accepted. Now, do you have something for me?" Sydney asked almost impatiently.

She hated delay more than anything, especially concerning matters of importance.

"Not really. The plan's still in motion."

"And why is that?"

"Apparently, Skai Jayden is surrounded by Jared Drake and Damien. I doubt after the last escapade, they'd give her a breathing space. "

Sydney's shoulders slouched and Selene blew sir from her mouth.

Selene tipped her chin towards the chairs behind Sydney, offering her a seat. Both ladies took their seats, settling in for a discussion. The restaurant's murmur of clinking cutlery and low conversations served as a backdrop to their clandestine meeting.
