Chapter 7: The Escape

The team worked tirelessly to gather as much data and equipment as possible from the facility. They knew that they had to leave as soon as possible, before any other forces could arrive and take control of the situation.

As they were packing up, they suddenly heard the sound of heavy footsteps coming from the hallway outside.

"Quick, hide!" Captain Takahashi whispered urgently.

The team scattered, hiding behind equipment and ducking into nearby rooms. Captain Takahashi took cover behind a large console, trying to steady her breathing as she listened to the footsteps draw closer.

When the source of the noise finally came into view, she was relieved to see that it was just a group of soldiers from their own unit.

"Captain, we heard gunfire. Is everything okay?" one of the soldiers asked.

Captain Takahashi breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes, everything is fine. We just encountered some resistance from the enemy, but we were able to neutralize the threat."

The soldiers nodded, and one of them gestured to the data and equipment the team had gathered. "What's all this?" he asked.

"It's valuable intelligence and equipment that we need to take back to our own forces," Captain Takahashi replied.

The soldiers helped the team carry the equipment and data to the extraction point, where a helicopter was waiting to take them back to base.

As they lifted off from the facility, Captain Takahashi couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. They had accomplished their mission, and they had done it without any major casualties. But at the same time, she knew that they had only scratched the surface of what was really going on in Tokyo Area 49.

As the helicopter flew off into the distance, she couldn't help but wonder what other secrets the facility held, and what kind of danger they would face if they ever had to go back.
