Chapter 1

"Ok Kyra what story do you want to here tonight" I asked I tucked my daughter into bed. "can I hear the story of the powerful witch again?" she asked excited. "Again I've told you that story every night for the last week though" I said. "Please Mommy it's my favorite plus you only told half of it last night" she said, causing I smiled.

"Alright" I said as I sat down on the bed next to her. "where did we leave off again?" I asked her as I played dumb. "the other strong alpha wolf saved the witch duh mommy" she said sarcastically. "right" I said.

"after the powerful witch got out of the hospital the alpha wolf who saved her, called her to see how she was doing" I said starting the other half of her story...

5 years passed since I moved myself and Kyra into human society. I'm 26 now, and Im a first year resident at Lincoln Memorial Hospital. my brother Jackson decided to stay in France after he fell in love with a normal human girl. she was shocked to learn Witches, werewolves and vampires among other things actually exist.

about a year after I left, my mother was able to restore the coven back to its former glory. unfortunately she had to quit her job at the hospital in order to do it though.

as for Nathan him and Sarah officially got married 3 years ago. I didn't keep him from seeing Kyra though at first there were limitations. but after a while I realized that Sarah wasn't her father. I shouldn't have blamed her for what happened to me. after a year of ignoring her I apologize. I told her I'm sorry I was, and she apologized too she didn't know any of it was happening I should have taken her word for it when she said it the first time.

Emily was around here and there she traveled a lot after we graduated who knows what she was doing.

then there was Chris. he never stopped protecting us he stayed with us and ran his pack from a distance. every day he tried to convince me to go back. "you'll be safe in my territory" he would say.

I knew it was probably true I just wasn't ready to go back.

"mommy" Kyra said looking up at me "what is it little light?" I asked. "how come daddy is away so much" she asked. how do I answer that. I took a deep breath "because.... Daddy has to protect not only you but his pack" I answered. "why can he do that from here?" she asked. "Because he doesn't just have you and the pack to keep safe but also Sarah and your baby brother" I answered again. "mommy" she said. "how come they hate me?" she asked.

"oh Kyra" I hugging her. "they don't hate you... their just afraid of what you can do" I told her "but even tho right now, mommy, daddy and Chris have to protect you... when you get bigger no one will come after you because you'll be able to control the power you have" I told her. "ok" she said biting her lip. "now" I said kissing her head then standing up. "it's time for bed ok" I said and she nodded. I walked over to her bedroom door and shut her light off "I love you my little light" I said looking back at her. "I love you to mommy" she replied and I closed the door behind me as I walked out.

my heart ached at the questions she asked. I thought all this time I was protecting her from the hate, but she somehow still found out about it.

KNOCK KNOCK

I heard someone knock on the door. I walked downstairs, through the living room and to the door then opened it. "Perfect timing I just put her to bed" I said with a smile. he smiled back at me, then practically pounced on me.

"Chris!" I said laughing as we both fell to the floor "sh you'll wake the baby" he said as he laid on top of me "volvunt" I said causing us to roll so I was now on top. "I'm a little concerned about her" I said seriously. "what's wrong?" he asked. "she started asking questions like, how come they hate me?, how come Nathan is gone so much?, why his pack is more important?" I said. "what and I supposed to say to her, what even made her ask these questions" continued.

"listen I'm sure it's nothing" he said "kids are way more perceptive to the things around them or... not around them then people think" he said honestly. "I know" I replied"Maybe I should take her home for a few days maybe that'll help" I said now standing up. "it may also help her control her power better if she sees other kids using it" he said.

"I don't know" I said walking towards the kitchen. he got up and followed me. "what is it?" he asked. "I kinda just have a bad feeling but maybe it's just my fear that something will happen" I said trying to brush it off. "then don't go and I'll be her dad problem solved" he said sarcastically. "stop it I'm being serious" I replied pushing him lightly.

"do what you think is right for your daughter" he said putting his hands on my shoulders. "but what's right?" I asked "keeping her here and safe? or taking her home?" I asked.

"let me ask you this" he said "what do you think she needs the most right now?" he asked. I hesitated for a second "I think.... I think she needs to know that she's loved" I told him. "then it's that's your answer" he said. "alright I guess we're going home" I replied.

"Ragnar what exactly are we looking for?" Adira asked as they walked through deep underground catacombs. Ragnar didn't answer and only continued to walk. "Ragnar I can help..." Adira said. "Magic doesn't work down here Adira so you are therefore utterly useless at the moment" Ragnar Replied.

they continued to walk for hours until the two finally came to a door. runes were engraved on on it along with words that appeared to be Latin. "read it" said Ragnar. Adira walked closer to the door to better see the words. "Here is your warning to turn around now.... for what slubbers behind the door.... is something which should not be released" Adira read. "open the door" Ragnar ordered. Adira nodded and opened the door....

suddenly a green light flashed before their eyes, it was so bright they had to cover them. then darkness surrounded them. Ragnar smiled "it is done" he said.
