The Last City

Jax and Mia were quickly ushered into a meeting with the leaders of the rebel city. They had expected to be grilled with questions, but instead found themselves greeted with open arms and congratulatory comments.


"We are proud of what you have accomplished," said one of the leaders. "Your bravery and ingenuity have given us hope for the future."


Jax and Mia were taken aback by the warm reception. They had expected a much more contentious reaction to their news.


The leaders continued, "We understand that you have provided us with an incredible opportunity, but we must approach this with caution. We cannot afford to make any mistakes."


They outlined their plan to send a team of scientists and explorers to the other world, but emphasized the need for careful preparation and research beforehand. They also explained that they would need Jax and Mia's help in navigating the portal and providing guidance for the team.


Jax and Mia readily agreed, eager to continue their mission and help their people. They spent the next several days working with the rebel leaders to develop a plan for the expedition, including selecting the team members and assembling the necessary equipment.
