Samantha confronted her former companions, demanding to know why they had betrayed her. At first, they denied everything, but as she pressed them further, the truth began to come out.


They had seen the wealth and power that the knowledge of the lost city could bring, and they had decided that their own greed was more important than their loyalty to Samantha.


Furious, Samantha cut all ties with them and vowed to keep the knowledge of the lost city to herself. She knew that the temptation of wealth and power was too great for some people to resist, and she would not risk their betrayal again.
