Rama fluttered her lashes in stupefaction and shock.
"Roshan?" Her hoarse voice broke down as she examined him with her eyes. It really was Roshan, his brown hair was tied in a ponytail, hazel eyes peering at hers with a worried look and hard masculine face sculpted with concern.
"I'm sorry. I should have come earlier." He said apologetically, his low baritone voice echoed in the cell.
Rama gradually stood on her feet, not tearing her gaze away from him afraid that he'd disappear from her sight if she did.
"You don't have to apologize." She said with a low voice as she gained her composure, although the shocked expression was still etched on her face.
"We don't have much time. We should leave now." Roshan stated firmly with a hardened expression on his face.
He grasped two horizontal iron bars next to each other, pulling at it with inhumane force, causing it to extend and create more space for a person to go through. His strength left her dazed for a second until Malika's voice brought her out of her dazed state.
"Come on." Malika said in a rushed tone as she pulled her arm with scurried footsteps to pass through the gap.
They emerged from the cell, suddenly the cold wind emanating from the corridors brushed through her skin, making her rub her arms together for warmth.
Roshan pulled off his jacket and wore it over her to keep her warm and Rama's cheeks flushed red at his gesture, thankfully the place was dimly lit so no one noticed.
"Stay close and behind me." Roshan enunciated as they moved through the dungeon corridors with stealth footsteps.
"Did you come alone?" Rama queried with a low voice almost like a whisper as she followed behind him.
"No." Came his short clipped reply as they arrived at the exit of the dungeon, his eyes calculating and scrutinizing the surrounding intently.
Silence ensued as Roshan creaked open the metal door leading to the exit of the dungeon with only the sound of Malika's raspy breathing resounding in their ears as she clutched on to the arm of Rama in petrification.
Roshan stole a peek through the door scrutinizing his eyes on the hallway and when he was certain the hallway was clear, he emerged out of the door with the girls behind him.
"How did you get in? Did you kill them?" Rama queried behind him in curiosity as she screened her eyes around the hallway to find not a soul.
"No one guards the gates and they're having a party in the ground hall. But we have to go through the window." Roshan noted as they strode down the hallway lit dimly by the flickering red torches hanging on the wall.
They seemed to be very confident of their resilience if they didn't bother to guard the entrance of the castle, but Rama figured they wouldn't care about guarding it because no one in their right senses would break into the devil's abode. It wouldn't be them who would be in danger but the lunatic who would break into the castle.
The castle halls were empty, not a soul was detected. It was either the party was a grand one or the night creatures were unquestionably highly confident about their lack of need for Castle's security.
They followed Roshan closely till he halted at a balcony. The windows were left open for the wind to come through, blowing on the velvet curtains that flailed as the wind blew past it.
They moved closer to the balcony and Rama's eyes caught sight of a thick rope fastened to the rails till it fell to reach the ground outside below them. The height from the ground to the balcony was a lot higher than she anticipated.
Roshan pulled the rope up and without wasting a second more, he wound the end of the rope around Malika's waist with hastened movements.
He clamped the rope together while she trembled in fear of getting caught as her eyes glanced at the hall every second. Their fate would be doomed if they were to get caught.
"Go over the rail. I'll pull you down slowly." Roshan indicated and she nodded meekly before crossing over the rail to the outer side grasping onto the cold rails for support.
Roshan coiled his fists tightly around the rope and she did the same before he gradually pulled her down with an effortless movement, her golden hair swaying behind her as she was pulled down.
Rama leaned over the rails as she watched intently with her heart in her throat as Malika was being pulled down, praying inwardly that she wouldn't get caught.
Malika's feet finally touched the ground and she sighed in relief. Roshan motioned for Malika to unfasten the rope from her waistband she frantically did.
"Your turn." Roshan said as he pulled the rope up and fastened it around her waist. She climbed over the rails like Malika had done and Roshan gradually pulled her down till her feet hit the floor.
Her eyes scrutinized the interior of the castle which had a gothic setting to it as well as the interior but also in an extravagant and luxurious manner. It was dark but she could still make out the nice garden and a dragon sculpted fountain with water spewing out of it's mouth. Gory statues planted on the ground as a display of dark art resided in the exterior of the castle.
The girls tilted their heads up to watch Roshan come down.
They watched as Roshan went over the rail, the girls mouths were slightly ajar in awe as he took a swift leap from the balcony, soaring midair with his ponytail dancing behind him to land gracefully on his feet with an earth shaking rumble.
"Let's go." Roshan stated in a rushed tone as he half ran with stealth movements with the girls running behind him towards the unguarded black gates leading to the exit.
A shaky smile tore through Rama's lips knowing the taste of freedom was just behind those gates and she would never get to see those bloody crimson red eyes of the vampire king again who had given her nothing but nightmares and haunted memories.
Roshan pushed the gates open and they emerged from it to enter the forest.
A gust of wind blew past them, making the leave of the trees flail eerily, the wind seemed to whisper words of melancholy as if warning her of the perilous dangers as it emanated an ominous feeling making her spine tingle but she shaked the feeling off. She didn't need bad energy at the moment when she already got her freedom.
She mustered the energy as she ran as fast as her legs could carry her through the dark eerie forest path with only the shrieking of insects heard. She wanted to be as far away from that daunting castle and away from the night creatures as farther as she could.
A distant howl resonated in the forest making her jump a bit in fear but she soon realised it was only Roshan's accomplices.
Although, she had crossed the gate and escaped from the castle, a feeling of uneasiness tied a knot in her stomach and it was an unnerving feeling she couldn't quite ignore. Their escape seemed too easy, and for a split moment, it felt like a trap.
She took in sharp huffs of breath as her lungs burned from the tiring run and her knees weakened, making her legs wobble as she was fast losing energy.
Roshan halted and stopped to examine both her and Malika, although Malika didn't look as bad as she did.
Roshan was about to say something until a daunting voice reverberated in the cold darkness as it floated with the wind.
"Leaving the party unannounced?" Rama's blood ran ice cold as she felt the heavy presence of melancholy hovering behind her, emitting darkness from every pore of his skin.
She slowly veered around to meet the crimson red eyes of Draco glinting with malignance mixed with a flicker of precarious excitement and her heart skipped a beat as adrenaline coursed through her veins.
