Luck

Slowly, they walked together on the rocky ground. The atmosphere around them was not all sunshine.

Sevyn could feel the wall she had placed around herself, she no longer acted free around him. Having a huge title does sucks.

"You should do me a favor and release your stiffened shoulder. I do not bite, you know." He decided to tease her.

"Sorry, Your…"

"Servyn." Before she could say the word, he made sure to correct her.

"I can not call you that." Hermione blurted.

"But you were the one who asked for my name." He reminded.

"That….was a mistake."

"Ignorance you know, they say, is bliss." He smirked.

"I shall remember your kind words." She responded dryly.

"Why do I feel like you are being sarcastic?"

"Am I? I am just stating my appreciation Your Highness, do not get me wrong." Hermione chortled with a fake smile. She did not want to look disrespectful, after all he was their soon-to-be king.

Servyn nodded his head as if understanding what she said. "I have a question of my own, you would not mind answering would you?"

"How can I ignore the Prince's query." She blandly stated.

"How did you address me previously when you were not aware of my name?" Servyn question, feigning curiosity as he stared at her.

Hermione nearly tripped over. He was asking what she called him before she knew his name, what is she supposed say? Handsome stranger? Oh no!

Hermione cleared her throat before saying. "I never talked about you to anyone, so I did not have to address you as anything." She was lucky that she was able to hold her expression still.

Servyn chuckled lightly. He had a smug smile on his lips that made her question if he knew the answer already, but she doubt that, it was highly impossible– For a human.

And he looked….human? She just did not want to judge, if not, it will make her become one of those who stared and judged her too.

"Is the fair to your liking?" Servyn asked, changing the topic.

"It is alright, what about to you?"

He simply shrugged.

Hermione turned to look at him after remembering something. "Your Highness, can I ask a question if you do not mind?"

"Oh, I do mind."

"What?"

"Is it not best I remain quiet, than give you an unexpected answer you do not like, and then have you build up walls around yourself and remain cold to me?" Servyn drawled.

His response shocked her. But to think about it, that is what she just did. She just realized that she had been acting cold towards him and it was unfair. He was not to blame, it is just her badluck to blame.

Not hesitating to sigh out loud, Hermione muttered. "I am sorry, Your…."

"Servyn." He interrupted again.

"But…" Hermione protested halfway.

"It is an order." He sternly stated.

Hermione paused her lips and nodded. "Servyn." She whispered, testing the name from her lips.

But he heard it very well, which made him smile without knowing why.

"Your question?" He asked her.

Hermione turned to him. "Right, urmm." She looked away again, feeling like he was distracting her. "Why is the curfew time always broken during the time of the fair, I mean. Is it not a better way for the creatures to attack seeing all the humans in one place?"

Servyn poked the side of his jaw with his tongue before replying her. He pointed up at the moon. "You see the moon?" He asked her.

"Yeah, it is…reddish."

"It is the red blood moon." His deep voice began.

"Red blood moon?" She repeated.

"The fair is always held during the time of the red blood moon." He remarked.

"Why is that?" Hermione's interest was piqued.

"Because during the red blood moon, the creatures, like what you call them, do not come out."

Hermione frowned at his statement. "What I call them? What do you call them then?"

Servyn looked at her with a strange smile, he kept his eyes right on hers as he replied. "Beings."

Hermione blinked away. "Why do they not appear during the red blood moon?"

"The red blood moon appears only once in a year. And when it does the fair is held. That is the only time the humans are free to stay out till the moon disappears."

He paused and looked at her. "The red blood moon have the power to reveal their real state."

Hermione's mind took in his explanations, she nodded, finally understanding everything. "So you mean to say, if a witch was spotted under the red blood moon, she will be in her true form?"

"Exactly what I mean."

"Including the demons too?"

"Yes, no exemptions." He replied in a serious tone.

"Really, no exemptions? Is the red blood moon that powerful?" Hermione looked over at him, only to see him looking at her too with a strange expression.

"It is indeed." He responded mysteriously.

Hermione heard him exhale loudly before he said, changing the topic. "The friend you came with, will he not find you?"

"He is actually busy with one of the ministers. I dare not disturb them." She replied.

"Wait? How did you know it was a man? I never told you." Hermione furrowed her brows at him.

"Calm down, you have the scent of a man all over you."

"Oh....do not misunderstand it."

"I never did." He smiled teasingly at her.

Hermione realized what he was thinking, her cheeks heated up, she hurriedly rushed to clearify things. "I do not mean it that way,....I just….just did not want you…misunderstanding."

"I never thought of it any other way, Hermione." He mentioned with that teasing smile of his.

Hermione knew she was blushing right now, but she did not want to acknowledge it. She cleared her throat to distract her mind.

Being in the same space with him was not healthy for her, and she did not want to test her theory.

But it seems luck has a different plan for her.

Hermione felt a cold liquid by the side of her cheek, her brows slightly furrowed in confusion. Another came after, and then she saw people starting to run around.

"It is about to rain." She heard servyn say when she looked up, and it was infact true.

A thunder rumble elicited a shout from most of the children. Not long after, the rain began to pour heavily without any drizzling warning. Before she could turn to bid him goodbye, she felt him grab her by her hand, and the next thing she knew they were running in a certain direction amoungst the crowd.

Hermione increased her pace to match his. Her eyes glued to his face as she watched the water droplets outline his features. The way he batted his long lashes to get rid of the water threatening to get in, his wet hair that kept dripping, and the most tempting one. The rain highlighted the deep color of his lips, making it look glossy and wet. She felt like using her thumb to wipe them dry.

God! This was bad! Hermione couldn't point out what was wrong with her anymore. She did not like the weird sensation in her chest.

She was brought back to reality when he pulled her into an empty cabin. It looked as though it has been unused for a long time now.

"We should stay here till the rain cease, it is quite heavy and if you go out there now you will probably catch a cold." Servyn asserted. He had already let go of her hand by now.

Hermione only nodded, she needed to gather her thoughts first.

He was right, the rain was indeed too heavy. She looked around, it was nothing but woods and they were both soaked.

The cold began to reach out to her, Hermione shivered a little. She picked up the wood, turning to him to suggest they make a fire but her words were swallowed back when she saw the sight that greeted her.

Her eyes widen in shock, as if they were about to fall from their sockets.

His upper body was completely naked, revealing things she has never seen before.
