On the Run

Jackson and Alicia hit the ground hard on their backs, sending them into a train that had already come to a stop. The train's lights were dim, and there was not a soul in any of the seats. The platform was deserted too.

"Are we gonna sleep here?" Lorient asked.

"Why not? This is our secret hideout, Alicia and me. Whenever someone's after us, we hide here," Jackson said, struggling to get up through the pain.

"You guys get chased often?"

"Mainly because she tends to stir up trouble."

"Well, if you're the kind of person who's always on the front lines and people are trying to kill you, it's not that unusual," Alicia shrugged, as if her back didn't hurt at all.

Lorient stared at them as if he was watching a mammoth.

"Alright then, these seats have cushions, so we can relax a bit," Jackson said, jumping onto a seat, stretching, and then lying down. He tossed away today's worries and drifted off to sleep.

"Hmph, he's the same as always, falling asleep so quickly," Alicia said, looking a bit helpless.

She looked at the young man sleeping in front of her, unconsciously approached him, crouched down, and suddenly felt a surge from her chest...

But she resisted it, sitting down in disbelief, breathing heavily.

It was always like this. Every time she was alone with him, she felt this surge...

She shook her head desperately, trying to control the blush on her face.

ZZZZZZ...

Another snore, this time coming from the little brat, Lorient.

...In that case, it would be a bit awkward not to sleep.

She chose a seat opposite Jackson and lay down, facing his face.

An unsuspecting expression, slightly parted lips, quite adorable.

Alicia smiled like that and fell asleep too.
