Jacob stood in front of the window, preferring to turn his back to her because he knew that he might be able to run into her arms and tell her that he truly loves her.
April walked up to him and wrapped her arms around him from behind, she was aware that she could be rejected but she wasn't.
Jacob turned around slowly, kissed his beloved wife's lips and caressed her cheeks.
"I never thought this would happen, you were my life, April, and now you will only be part of my past," he told her in a low voice as his hands caressed her.
"Jacob, we can still continue with our lives, I love you, you are my love, you are the man of my life," April insisted.
Jacob walked away once more, he knew that if he stayed close to his wife any longer he would make the mistake of forgiving her and it was exactly what he would not be willing to do.
Before the silence took over both of them, the office door opens, Esteban, the lawyer and friend of the company, enters with a yellow envelope in his hands.
"Jacob, I thought it would be more difficult to obtain these documents, but just mentioning your name was enough," he said without realizing that April was there.
Jacob took the documents while Esteban left the office without adding more words, the more that nobody could be aware of the situation.
Jacob opens the envelope, takes a seat and signs, a few seconds later he hands the pen to April, which leaves her confused.
"What's that? What am I supposed to sign?" she asked, confused.
"This is our hasty divorce, so please sign," he asked patiently.
"I'm not going to sign, you and I said that we would be together for the rest of our lives, Jacob react please", she asked him full of nerves, she didn't know what else to try.
"I don't want to be married to you for one more minute, April, I just want you to leave my life forever, I'll leave the way clear for you to go live with your lover," he told her sarcastically.
Whoosh! A slap sounded, April's hand hit Jacob's cheek, she was really exhausted from fighting.
"If you want me to sign the divorce, I will, it hurts that you don't believe in me, you never knew me Jacob," she said crying.
Jacob remained silent as he walked away, he just wanted this nightmare to end, the woman he has loved so much would leave with another and he didn't know if he was really willing to put up with it.
April takes the pen ready to sign, wipes her eyes, tries to be strong, but it is evident that she cannot.
April fades a bit, her body doesn't respond the same, she simply wants Jacob to clear his mind and understand that he had never been unfaithful.
April felt nauseated, she was trying to show that nothing was wrong with her, it was going through her mind that if she revealed her pregnancy it would only make Jacob think that she was saying it to tie him up and she wouldn't be capable of that.
"Are you okay, April?" Jacob asked, seeing that she wasn't feeling well.
"I feel dizzy and nauseous but I guess I'll be fine," she said, grabbing strength from where she didn't have it.
April took the pen again to sign, but at that moment Jacob realizes that there is blood running through her legs, it is evident that April can't stand being on her feet for another minute, by the time he approaches her falls passed out
Jacob quickly takes his wife in his arms, without thinking he takes her to the hospital, he was very worried, the blood would not stop.
As soon as she entered the hospital, a group of doctors and nurses took charge of April, so they already knew what was happening.
Jacob walked from one side to the other, he was really desperate, the good thing is that he was not alone, his friend Esteban was with him.
"Jacob, please calm down, you're making me very nervous," Esteban asked him.
"I can't be calm, April is in there and I don't know what happened to her," he replied worriedly.
"I know you love her and you're going to get divorced because of the happy photos, but remember that second chances exist, think about it, friend."
"I have nothing to think about, April took advantage of my trust, she does not deserve her deception to be overlooked," she refuted.
The doctor arrived in the middle of that conversation, Jacob who was desperate remains silent to listen to what he has to say.
"Mr. Gray, your wife is already in a room, you can go see her", said the doctor seriously.
"But is she a good doctor?" he asked, unable to hide his obvious concern.
"Your wife lost the baby but she'll be fine, later you can have more," the doctor said as he put his hand on Jacob's shoulder.
It took him about ten minutes to enter the room where April was, I didn't know how to look at her after that, she only wondered if she had even deceived him in that.
Jacob carefully enters the room, he notices that April is awake, he could see that she had been crying.
"Since when did you know April?" He asked in a calm tone.
"I barely found out and I was going to tell you but I couldn't with everything that has happened with us," he replied weakly.
"I would like to believe you but it is difficult to do so, you have deceived me, also I do not know if it was not even mine, I remind you that I have discovered you and now I know that you have a lover," he confessed, he did not even care that she was on that stretcher.
"How dare you doubt it, Jacob?" she asked embarrassed, so much mistrust was hurting her more and more.
"Soon we will be completely divorced, I will send the papers to your friend's apartment," she said. Only after pronouncing those words did he leave the room.
April was filled with sadness, hurt to the point of exhaustion, she couldn't believe that her husband mistrusted her so much.
Her eyes seemed like they would never stop crying, her heart was now broken into many pieces, she didn't even know if they were going to mend.
