Chapter 17: Humans and Animals Are Different

Hu Xiuxi was taken aback. She couldn't see the anger and hysteria she had imagined on Lin Yike's face. Lin Yike was smiling as if she had just heard a joke.

Hu Xiuxi felt defeated, like she had punched a pillow.

Lin Yike ignored her and looked at the flashy sports car behind her. Then, the door opened and a man wearing black leather jacket and sunglasses got out of the car. He whistled and curved his lips into a smirk.

"Lin beauty, long time no see. Brother has missed you so much."

"Senior Song, long time no see." Lin Yike smiled lightly.

Lin Yike was a well-known beauty in the Radio and Television department. Song Chengpeng had been clinging to her like a leech for two years, but Lin Yike had never shown him a good face.

Fortunately, he was wearing sunglasses today. Otherwise, if Lin Yike saw his squinty eyes, she would have been disgusted.

"Chengpeng, aren't you coming in with me?" Hu Xiuxi said in a coquettish voice, and her body stuck to Song Chengpeng's as if she had no bones.

"Be a good girl and go in by yourself. I'll be waiting for you in the hotel bed tonight." Song Chengpeng smiled, and his hand couldn't help but pat Hu Xiuxi's buttocks.

"Hate you!" Hu Xiuxi pouted and playfully hit Song Chengpeng's chest before walking towards the teaching building in high heels. As she passed by Lin Yike, she deliberately glanced at her with a look of pride.

Lin Yike really didn't know what Hu Xiuxi had to be proud of. Using her own body to exchange for a spot as an outstanding graduate was not a good deal no matter how you looked at it.

Although Song Chengpeng was the son of the school's principal, it was well-known that he was a philanderer who liked novelty and was unlikely to marry Hu Xiuxi.

Hu Xiuxi was smiling proudly now, but she would cry sooner or later.

Lin Yike tried to walk away, but Song Chengpeng stretched out his hand to block her path.

"It's been a while since we last saw each other. How about having a cup of coffee and catching up?" Song Chengpeng took off his sunglasses, his eyes squinting and roguish as he scanned Lin Yike up and down, making her feel uncomfortable.

"I have something else to do, we don't need to catch up. We don't seem to be that close anyway," Lin Yike said, refusing to give face.

Seeing that she was so disrespectful, Song Chengpeng's expression changed immediately. He coldly smiled and said, "Lin Yike, don't be so ungrateful. I'm only giving you one chance. As long as you serve me well in bed, the opportunity to be an outstanding graduate is just a word away from me."

Song Chengpeng took out a hotel room key card from his pocket and put it directly into her hand. "I never use a condom when I'm with a woman. If you get pregnant, and give birth to a boy or a girl, I might even consider marrying you. I'm not the kind of guy who would deny his responsibility after he pulls up his pants."

Lin Yike's ears were filled with Song Chengpeng's lewd laughter as she played with the room key card in her hand, smiling disdainfully.

"Song senior, I assume you've studied biology in high school. Then you should know that different species cannot mate, and even if they did, they cannot produce fertile offspring."

Lin Yike spoke seriously.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Song Chengpeng was completely confused.

"In simpler terms, it means that humans are different from animals. Humans and animals cannot mate." When Lin Yike said "humans," she pointed to herself, and when she said "animals," she pointed to Song Chengpeng, throwing the key card at him and walking away without hesitation.

"Ugh, what's with this second-hand goods pretending to be so high and mighty?" Song Chengpeng spat in the direction of Lin Yike's departure, then took out his phone and dialed a number.

"Mrs. Lin, I've already taken care of what you asked me to do, about my father's promotion..."
