Chapter 21 At Least Good Looking

Gu Jingting was dressed in a casual and homely style today, wearing a beige v-neck sweater and black casual pants, exuding a faint elegance.

"I look good?" He turned his head slightly, and their eyes met briefly.

His eyes were pitch black and deep, which made Lin Yike feel a little uncomfortable to look directly at.

"Mmm." She honestly nodded and smiled back, "Your voice is also very pleasant."

Gu Jingting's voice was low and magnetic, like a bass cello.

"'Good-looking' is not really a compliment for men." He said indifferently, without any emotional fluctuations, just handing over Fan Fan in his arms to her.

Lin Yike immediately collected herself. She carefully took the child, feeling a little stiff in her movements because she didn't often hold him. The little one seemed to be playing games with her. He leaned close to her and suddenly burst into tears, his voice loud and powerful, his hands and feet wriggling.

When the child cried, Lin Yike became a little flustered and didn't know what to do. She coaxed him nervously, "Good boy, don't cry, Mommy is here to comfort you..."

Zhang Jie, who was in the next room, heard the crying and immediately took the child over.

"Little Fan Fan might be hungry. I'll take him to drink milk." Zhang Jie said, holding the child and walking out.

Lin Yike looked defeated, muttering to herself: "This heartless little guy, forgets his mom after just a few days."

She sighed deeply and then said to Gu Jingting, "Fan Fan seems to have gained a little weight again."

"Really? Holding him every day, I didn't notice." He replied.

Lin Yike propped her cheek with one hand and said again, "Fan Fan hasn't opened his eyes widely yet, so it's hard to tell who he looks like. If he looks like his dad, he should be handsome."

When she spoke, her gaze lingered on Gu Jingting, "Although you don't have any impressive strengths, at least you have a good appearance."

Gu Jingting: "..."

He felt that Lin Yike's words didn't sound like praise, but rather sarcasm. And the person who dared to mock him, she must be the first.

Lin Yike and Gu Jingting were basically strangers, and with their age difference, they naturally had nothing in common.

After asking a few questions about Fan Fan, Lin Yike naturally ran out of things to say.

She looked at the time and estimated that Fan Fan should have finished drinking his milk, so she turned and walked out of the master bedroom to the nursery to check on the baby.

Little Fan Fan had finished drinking his milk and was sound asleep in his crib.

Lin Yike squatted by the side of the bed, looking at him lovingly. Her eyes were full of tenderness and affection as she gently lifted the baby's small hand and kissed it over and over again.

She came out of the nursery and saw that Gu Jingting had changed into a smart suit and looked like he was about to go out.

"Are you going out?" Lin Yike asked.

"I made plans with a friend," Gu Jingting glanced at her indifferently and replied.

"Where are you going? I came by car, so I can give you a ride," Lin Yike picked up her handbag and left the apartment with him.

Lin Yike's car was parked in front of the apartment, a white Audi A4.

Lin Yike drove and Gu Jingting sat in the passenger seat. He was tall and had long legs, so he looked a bit cramped in this type of car.

Lin Yike drove quite steadily, and the speed was not slow.

"There seems to be a Rolls-Royce following us," Lin Yike muttered.

Beside her, Gu Jingting casually rested his elbow on the car door and remained silent, except for the occasional sound of his phone vibrating.

He looked down at his phone, and there was a message from Ruan Qi in his inbox: Boss, what's going on?
