She turned around, walking awkwardly to avoid putting more pressure on her right calf. Just as she took another step, her phone in the back pocket rang again, lighting up the screen.
Jiang Yue quickly grabbed it, recognizing the caller, and answered promptly. "Where are you?" Luo Zhelan's deep voice came through the phone.
"In a nursery school in Ningyi Town," Jiang Yue honestly replied as she moved towards a small room.
Luo Zhelan's brows furrowed. "Why are you there? You haven't called for almost a week," he pointed out.
"Ah, I'm sorry about that. I've just been really occupied," Jiang Yue apologized as she continued walking. Reflecting on it, since leaving the town, she hadn't reached out to anyone, not even Luo Zhelan.
Luo Zhelan sighed, saying, "As long as you're fine."
Jiang Yue couldn't resist telling him, "Your men are here."
"Which men?"
"The ones you sent to protect me," Jiang Yue replied casually.
