Luo Zhelan pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a sigh. "Just tell Mother you're full already," he advised.
Jiang Yue frowned, concern evident in her expression. "She won't get upset with me for that, will she?"
"No, definitely not," he assured her with a shake of his head.
Jiang Yue nodded and patiently awaited Yuan Ru's return.
Upon seeing the older woman set a full bowl of egg drop soup on the table, Jiang Yue couldn't hold back any longer. "Madam Luo, I would love to eat more but I'm already full," she stated with her tone tinged with regret.
Quick to support her, Luo Zhelan chimed in, "Jiang Yue and I had a meal before arriving here."
Yuan Ru nodded, her smile still in place. "Ah, I understand."
Despite maintaining her composed demeanor and smiling facade, Jiang Yue couldn't help but notice a momentary pause in Yuan Ru's movements, making her feel guilty.
