World's Collide

-----Kaede's POV

Just like I figured, the military or whatever those people were came over to our homes. Just like we planned, we didn't run or flee, but Yui's parents were quite concerned.

I ended up talking about essentially everything, especially when they brought up my our wings. thankfully, we didn't say anything about vampires and things like that, but we did play it off with a lie that it's just magic. Of course they didn't believe my words, so just like I did with Emi and Maria, I conjured up a small ball of light. It did startle some of the soldiers, but thankfully no guns were fired. However, showing them magic like that did come with a whole new set of consequences.

Long story short, after being questioned, we arrived back at Yui's place, but during the drive back, I contacted Selene and had everyone there leave the house, since I planned on bringing the commanding officer with me as he was far too interested in this to let Yui and I leave. In my mind I just wanted to get all this done and over with just so I can go back to hopefully living a somewhat normal life with Yui.

Now, even though Yui and I could've brought with us multiple soldiers, I lied and said that the crest can only take four, which led to just Yui and I taking the commanding officer. Once we arrived in the other world, we showed him around the capital of Yarene. We didn't travel far as once he saw a demi-human, he almost started firing his gun right then and there. Thankfully, none of the people in the other word know about guns, so they were clueless about how close they came to death.

It's safe to say that it didn't go well in that regard as the military deemed our 'gate' as too high of a threat. I tried to explain how it worked, but he was adamant that the crest would somehow open up and all those 'monsters' from that world would come into this world.

Because of the now potential threat of a war between worlds happening, I asked Selene to tell her mom to tell the queen in Yarene, warning her about it.

...

Days, and weeks go by as Yui and I were constantly interrogated by the military, barely getting time for ourselves. They wanted to know more about this so called 'magic,' to the point where I was practically forced to give them runes that held my mana inside them, allowing them to interact with the crest I made. I knew that if I didn't follow along, that problems would come up with my mother in this world and everyone else around me. So I just wanted to just get this over with to be honest.

Which thankfully seemed to have worked as after a few days, the military didn't come by to us away anymore and we were finally allowed to enjoy life once more. However that didn't last long... Not even a week after I gave the runes, problems soon broke out between both worlds.

What made matters worse was that due to in the influx of all the mana that my crests were taking on, it made it impossible to remove it as the mana was just simply too dense. Taking on all of that would end up killing me. Now it would've been quite poetic if I did end up sacrificing myself, putting peace between the two worlds, cutting off the ties, but I made a promise to Yui... Which leads me to where we are now.

Kaede: "Sis."

Selene: "Mm!"

Selene ends up stopping the soldiers in Yarene from entering this world, while I stop any of the soldiers from this world entering this their world. I did end up removing the crest from Yui's house before all of this happened, so nothing bad happened to her parents, but of course the military wanted me to create a new crest, which I made back in that mountain. Why was this happening? Well arguably the most important was the language. Both worlds spoke in different languages, which lead to a massive misunderstanding. If Yui or I was there during the time, then we could've acted as a mediator, but we were held back for interrogation. Plus, we couldn't foresee that any of this would actually happen. And I especially didn't consider for my crest to literally act as a doorway, allowing a steady stream of people to come to and from as they please. So I needed to put a stop to this.

Soldier: "Khh!"

I block the gate from my side, not letting any soldiers enter and stopping any demi-humans who managed to get by Selene, acting as a wall. Thankfully Selene is doing her job as not many demi-humans made it through. But of course, the military isn't happy with me as they all aimed their guns towards Yui and I.

Before they could fire, I erected a light barrier, protecting both Yui and I along with the couple demi-humans behind us. I was worried how my magic would do against bullets, but it seems to be doing well. And after emptying their magazine, they simply stared at us in wonder.

Kaede: "I've had enough of this. Fuck off back to where you came from."

Officer: "Kaede!"

Once of the officers who was familiar with me throughout the interrogations came up to us, his face plastered with anger. But I simply stare at him, uninterested in what he has to say.

Officer: "Move out of the way. Those monsters inside there are a threat!"

Kaede: "No, you're the ones who are a threat. Don't think I don't remember one of your men nearly open firing on a civilian in that world."

Officer: "You call those things people?!"

He looks at the demi humans behind me, but of course they have no idea what we're saying, simply holding their weapons closely, hiding behind my barrier.

Kaede: "Yes."

As if right on que, another demi-human slipped through the gate. Seems like Selene's having a bit of trouble on her end. But I guess she's still small, so she doesn't have a commanding voice... But before the newly arrive demi-human could attack, Yui takes care of him, disarming him in but an instant, allowing me to focus on the barrier.

Yui: "Don't worry, I got this."

Kaede: "Thanks."

She moved so quickly, making it seems so natural. When it comes to pure technique, I can't hold a candle to Yui, including manipulation of other's magic. I'm glad to have her at my side right now.

Officer: "See? The moment they come out, they want to kill us!"

Kaede: "You must've upset them somehow. So like I said, go back to-"

In that moment, he pulls out his pistol before firing it straight at me, but just like the barrage of bullets earlier, it was easily melted in an instant after making contact with my barrier.

Officer: "Shut up."

Fair enough.

Kaede: "Sis, how's it going on your end?"

And so, I contact Selene.

Selene: "I-t's kinda crazy! Fleur, Faye and everyone else is trying to help, but the Queen is still mad."

Kaede: "What happened?"

Selene: "Well those soldiers gunned down a group of civilians here, so they all just started coming straight into our house!"

So that explains the anger from the demi-human soldiers coming though. And the humans just see it as confirmation to go into the gate and take care of the 'threat.' What a headache...

Selene: "The queen, Cecelia will be here soon, I'm not too sure what to do."

Kaede: "Perfect."

Selene: "Huh?"

Kaede: "When she arrives, obey her orders. I don't want you getting into any more trouble."

Selene: "But..."

Kaede: "It's alright. I'll think of something."

It's arguably something only Yui and I can do anyways. Once the queen or her masked soldiers arrive, I'll try my best and interpret everyone's words and hopefully calm down this whole mess. Thankfully not many lives have been killed, so I'd like to keep it that way.

Yui: "Kaede?"

Kaede: "Don't worry, I have a plan. I might need your help though."

Yui: "O-okay..."

For the purpose of not pissing off the human soldiers, we spoke in the other world's tongue, but that did allow the demi-humans who are behind us to now understand our words. Which might be a good things as they might see us on their side.

I just hope that everyone will actually listen... But if not, I'll just have to force them to, even if I have to fight against Neri and the other masked soldiers, along with the army of soldiers armed with guns. I'm not letting this break out into a full fledged war...
