He thought he was insane, driving fast all the way from the nightclub and actually following her to this place.
William's eyes fixated on the suit jacket worn by Jessica, and he couldn't help but tightly grip the steering wheel. His voice was icy cold, sending shivers down her spine.
"Get in," William commanded.
This place was deserted. Jessica knew he was talking to her, but at this point, she didn't want to have anything to do with him.
"I said GET IN," William commanded again, tapping his slender fingers on the steering wheel."or do you want me to do something the Taylor Group?"
Jessica trembled all over, and immediately opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.
As she got in, William leaned towards her, and Jessica held her breath, about to ask what he was doing, only to see him take out her phone from her pocket.
William found the phone to be password-protected, but without hesitation, he entered his own birthday and the lock screen immediately unlocked.
Embarrassed, Jessica turned her head away. She didn't have the money to buy a new phone, so this was her old one. The password was simply forgotten to be changed.
William's movement also paused for a moment, but the next second, he swiped through the contacts and accurately found the number David had just saved. He asked, "What is this?"
Jessica was about to say something when William gave a cold laugh, cutting her off. "Looks like you two are making quick progress," he said, a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "I didn't expect you to be so eager right after getting out of prison, Jessica."
It's not what you think," Jessica said as she reached out to snatch the phone, but William held it up high and even pressed the dial button.
The call connected quickly and David's voice, with a hint of a smile, came through the receiver, "It hasn't been long since you left, and you're already missing me?"
William's gaze deepened for a moment.
"Thompson, how bad are foreign women, that you're so desperate you wouldn't even let go of a murderer?" William despised. "Do you know who that waitress you took today is? She's the daughter of the Taylor family, who went to jail for intentional homicide and was sentenced to five years in prison. She was just released recently."
William's lips curved into a chilly grin. "Thompson, you're a smart guy," he said, placing emphasis on each word. "I think you understand what I mean. Whoever tries to get close to her, I won't spare them. I'll make sure they regret it," he declared with determination. After delivering his message, he didn't wait for a response from the other end of the phone. Instead, he rolled down his car window and tossed his phone out, indifferent to its fate.
"Mr. Davis!" Jessica called, face turning pale as she stared at him in disbelief.
David Thompson was the only one who had cared for her in the past five years, and she couldn't believe what William had just told him. He had described her to David as a murderer, a person without shame, stained with blood, and even someone who had spent five years in prison for murder!
Jessica's teeth were chattering, and her whole body was trembling so much that she couldn't speak. She felt as if she had been stripped of her clothes and ridiculed in front of everyone, feeling ice-cold.
She didn't know why, even though she was already so humiliated, William still didn't let her go. He still wanted to tear open her scars one by one, making her suffer, making her embarrassed.
Was he so determined that he would only give up if she died?
"Taylor, you better make clear of your own identity," said William. "With your current status as a murderer, you can't even provoke a beggar, let alone David Thompson!" Just thinking that this woman ruined everything he had, and still dared to think that she could start a new life and regain happiness, made him feel like he was about to explode. He wished he could break her into pieces!
