The show (1)

"You are a Devil!"

Lucas smiled in response, appearing blissful when he heard it. The other mid-teens were completely baffled when they heard the Goddess. After all, what did she mean by Lucas being a Devil?

Because he was acting, or his behavior was like a Devil? And why was she so shocked to the point of standing from her grandiose seat with a fearful face? From the start, the Goddess had been wearing his sorrowful face as though she was crestfallen because she couldn't help Lucas like an actual Goddess.

She had been keeping quiet all the time, not even implementing punishment for Lucas as he acted blasphemous towards her. For the entire time, they actually thought the Goddess was like the merciful God they knew.

But…

Why was she flustered, shocked, and seemingly fearful as she pointed her finger at Lucas and exclaimed he was a Devil?

Perplexed, they placed their focal attention on Lucas and why Lucas… really appeared different. Indeed, the thought of Lucas being possessed was only a suspect, and they never actually believed it. True, supernatural as such had been told by their Grandma, but their parents never mentioned it before, as though it remained a history.

And when they grew up, they realized it was only to scare them as a child to become obedient, and the belief of such existence completely diminished.

They were now living in the 21st Century, and supernatural existence, such as ghosts, demons, evil spirits, and devils, remained a mystery and a supernatural belief.

A rumor to scare the kids into becoming obedient.

Therefore, they never thought Lucas was possessed and was likely experiencing a mental health breakdown after what happened. They slightly felt guilty, though, but they could only bite their lower lip, shifting their gaze away from the pitiful Lucas before he fainted.

They were startled, of course, by how ruthless Natala was earlier, and they even thought she already had experienced killing someone to appear indifferent after what she did. And to her childhood friend, nonetheless.

To be honest, they were also surprised when Michael mentioned that Natalia and Lucas actually had a deep relationship. It was then it occurred to them why Michael was always amiable and tried to befriend Lucas.

After all, it was no secret Michael had a crush on Natalia. Consequently, Michael's followers didn't like the revelation a bit, and the dislike of Natalia quickly grew to the point no one tried to befriend her.

Despite her beauty, the cause of men pursuing her, her cold demeanor chased them away. Her background even spread, and they took advantage of it to degrade her reputation.

But then again, men still liked her, and Michael was not an exception. They also suspected the Rock had it too, but just when it had been approved when the Rock confessed. The next day, he always tried to distance himself from her.

It was like, liking her and then fearing her instead.

Therefore, it was no strange men like her and feared her, and come to think of it, wasn't Lucas the same? They would catch him glimpsing at Natalia from time to time, and they always shrugged it off, treating it as normal.

But to think they had such a deep relationship?

They shifted their attention to Natalia and caught her gazing at Lucas with a slightly furious expression. They wondered what she was thinking, but they heard Lucas's voice, gathering their attention again.

"What do you mean?"

Lucas tilted his head, acting bewildered. The Goddess trembled for a moment, still staring at Lucas with a furious expression. Suddenly she opened her palm, facing Lucas, and mumbled:

"Divine Shackles!"

Suddenly, golden chains slithered from the floor below Lucas and wiggled to surround Lucas' body like tentacles. The latter didn't move, keeping his carefree smile with tears still crawling from his eyelids and letting the golden chains imprison him.

The Goddess's open palm earlier had now turned into a fist, conveying that she had sealed Lucas in his place. Despite that, she didn't feel triumph at all and appeared wary because Lucas still manifested a carefree attitude despite the golden chains restricting him.

"Ah! You got me!"

Lucas could still smile, but his limb was totally constricted. The Goddess couldn't understand why he was still acting like a prisoner having his freedom inside the prison. And she didn't like his attitude a bit.

"Hah?! You are still trying to deceive me, huh? This Divine shackle is purely made by the Light Element, the opposing Element of Evil and Darkness. Go! Continue acting!

Do you really believe such a Devil like you, possessing the body of the Mortal, could dare defy the power of God? I may not be the God suited enough to dispose of an evil existence like you, but I learned some spells just to fight against you!

The Devil!"

The Goddess's speech and demeanor had now turned a hundred-eight degree, yet she was still beautiful, nonetheless. Her furious expression and her exhibition of power quickly garnered astonishment and wonder from the mid-teens, who believed they could conjure a golden chain like the Goddess.

Meanwhile, Lucas was not the same, and his carefree smile slightly diminished. His eyebrow arched upward when he heard what the Goddess said, and suddenly formed an ambiguous smile and shook his head.

Waiting in silence, the Goddess heard Lucas mumble:

"Sigh, I really don't want to resort to this, but I promised you, Lucas, that I would give you a show, right? To show what you are capable of…"

Lucas, who heard it, was dumbfounded. At first, when he saw the Goddess suddenly open her palm at him, his body, and conjured a golden chain out of nowhere, she was amazed but quickly grew panicked.

She was targeting his body, for God's sake!

But, he was actually wondering about this murky man, or should he have named him, a Devil just like what the Goddess said, declaration.

To show what I'm capable of? Show me then!

Despite being skeptical, it doesn't stop him from anticipating.

"Oh, it seems you are excited. Sigh, I guess I have no choice."

He acted like he was dispirited by what he mumbled. However, from the Goddess' perspective, Lucas formed a creepy smile with his mouth, enough to scare the child away.

And to be honest… comprehending what he mumbled, she felt the fear crawling into her heart… and her body uncontrollably shivered.

A/N: When I read back the few chapters, I still noticed some grammatical mistakes and problem with sentence structures. Sigh, It seemed I'm still an unprofessional writer, yet. And I really spent two hours writing this chapter, and spent another exhausting time again to edit it. Sigh, I guess I should focused on writing with good flow to satisfy the readers, rather than to Grammarly just to get a higher score.

Well, sorry for the delayed i guess? and forgive this talkative side of me. Thank you, once again for reading up to this point. Do note I'm not editing this author note heheheh so you might noticed some grammatical mistakes.
