"Why did she become a demon, and I gained powers after she tore one of them?" Lucas wondered as she glanced at Lilith. 
Lucas then counted the chains surrounding his soul.
"And why are there seven of them?"

Lucas, at first, planned to awaken the Devil's child and asked him something about the place. But it changed when the Devil mentioned the Devil's heart, opening the chance for his wife to become a devil. As a consequence he killed him.

But who said about not gaining information when they battled?

Just like what the Devil had mentioned, he had many arts in this place, and there might be some who were still intact. The speculation was confirmed when the Devil child performed the attack that might be one of the Arts mentioned by the devil.

Only that, Lucas was confused. He wondered, "Did that Devil child regain its rationality and learn blood manipulation? If not, then how?"

He did not bother to hide his thoughts, behaving like he was only asking himself, but was actually inquiring to the Devil inside him. The latter was, of course, not gullible to not realize it, but he was amused by Lucas's question, so he replied:
