"They couldn't save her," Max shook his head and turned his gaze away from her to stare ahead of them.

Hillary was silent for a brief moment. Not that she was mourning the deceased or anything of that sort. Besides, she barely knew anything about Lenora nor did she have any relationship with her. All she knew was, Lenora was Max's girlfriend. At least, that was what she believed since they always made it seem like they were a couple.

She felt Max needed space and decided to remain silent.

Somehow, Max was able to notice this and a weak smile thinned out on his lips.

"You don't need to feel like you're a burden," He began.

"It's not that. I'm sorry. I mean, it's painful to lose someone that was so close to you," Hillary said as she bit her lips.

"Especially when that someone was the person you loved more than anything in this world," She added in a voice that sounded almost like a whisper.
