Chapter 21: The Motivation To Cry

Autumn chuckled to herself as she closed the computer. Then she looked out her window, sad it was closed. The rain pelted against it, dripping down from her roof; which would probably be wet for a few days now, unless it turned out to be really sunny the next day. Steve had been to her apartment. He’d been there and seen everything she owned, seen that she lived in a place without walls, where she could stand in the shower and still see her front door. He knew that her privacy only came from stacking things on top of one another. He probably even knew she lived there because it was cheap and she couldn’t afford much.

It didn’t matter. She liked it. He probably got that vibe, too.
