I am sorry that I have been a bit off the mark lately, but I will get the new chapter parts out just as soon as I polish them up a bit more!
Posting for four separate series can be a bit challenging between my bit of downtime and working full-time as well, so I beg your patience and forgiveness.
I am currently working on the last Character dives as well before we close out Volume One: Embers for good and kick off Volume Two: Smoke!

21. Special Presentation: The last of the real ones. Part 1.
Kals Kajai: Jakarl. Jackal-form Shifter. Arcane Duelist.
Kahn Kadja: Jakarl. Jackal-form Shifter. Illusionist/Geo Mage.
Summary:
The Jakarl, a nomadic and illusive clan of Jackal- form Shapeshifters, had lived in and roamed the desserts of Suidelain for dozens of generations.
They were a hardened and wise folk, having braved and mastered the harshest of what the dessert could offer.
On a random summers night The Beast would find its way into the slumbering village of the Kadja clan, one of the last remaining surviving groups of their people.
He would ravage and destroy them all.
All but a pair of siblings who just barely managed to escape.
Kals Kajai, the youngest of the two siblings would end up being the last of her clan as her eldest brother Kahn Kadja would pass of his wounds shortly after their escape.
She would gather what she could of her things from her destroyed dorpie, harness the spirits of her elders and what remained of their ancestral abilities, and leave the dessert from which her people hailed, vowing never to return until The Beast was brought to justice and her people avenged.

Saki: Human. Approxi Knight.
Summary:
Saki was just your average 13-year-old girl.
She was trying to get by in the world.
Just trying to complete 8th grade at a new school...
Just trying to keep her grades up.
Just trying to make some friends at a new school...
Just trying to avoid bullies.
Just trying to ready herself for high school at a new school...
She was just trying to keep her head above the waves of life, and being an only child with a single mother was slowly becoming more and more difficult as she grew and got older.
Life in the small town of Milwaukee was not where it was for her...
It was slow and boring and everyday seemed to bleed into the next in all of its monotony.
Until one day...
One drab and rainy day.
A day on which her life would change forever as she would find herself literally stepping out of one world and into another.
At least in this one she wouldn't be the only new kid at school with a sad back story, right?
And what was this...powers?
Fack yes!
Maybe this school year would be a bit...well, a LOT different for her.

The Unrelenting West Wind who's mind was capable of amazing telekinetic feats, and the Infallible Snow! An awe-inspiring martial arts brawler.
Noncha and Neeka were the talk of the town!
The heroes of the hour, at nearly all hours!
At least their heroic alter-egos were!
For all their parents knew, the boys were always either with them in person, asleep in bed, or at the local Ludus, honing their education before they would be given the choice of heading to Garth Verlore at 10 years old.
The boys had both been born with extraordinary powers and abilities, gifts that they had managed to keep hidden from their parents and peers at all times.
They were vigilantes, using their abilities to keep their little corner of the world as safe as possible.
Well, as safe as a pair of Tinker-kin kids could.
Their latest goal?
Eradicate the new and malicious gang that had just shown up in town.
The Bloody Bucket Boys.

24. Special Presentation: Clockwork Angels. Part 1.
Reteger Rushe: Elven. Inventor/Engineer/Professor.
Summary:
"I could fly if I wanted to!"
It was a bold proclamation, but it was one that a young and eager Reteger fully believed in as he activated the Aetheral wings of his prototype Pulse-wing Flight System, and leapt from the second-story of his home...
And right into the pages of history!
Reteger Rushe had been obsessed with the idea of flight for nearly as long as he had been a live, and with the invention of his first fully-functioning flight suit he would travel to Garth Verlore to show the world what could be done, and to teach the next generation all that he knew.
Unbeknownst to know, an insidious and slowly-growing cult had taken interest in his harness-like Aether-wing suits quite some time ago...
They would move to get their hands on his blueprints at any cost.
Starting with the infiltration of Garth Verlore.
