WATCHING TV

WATCHING TV

Sitting on the sofa during the weekend.

Lily heard her phone ringing beside her as she was watching her favorite show on E Entertainment. A bowl of popcorn beside her, her legs crossed under her thighs.

Unfolding her legs, She rushed and picked up her phone. Placing the phone on her ear, she spoke, Hello! Who am I speaking with? Her eyes were still on the TV.

"It's Jack and I am calling regarding the proposal of last night."

She smiled happily, this is what had been waiting for, she thought to herself.

"Oh! Hi Jack. Yes, I thought long and hard in the night regarding your proposal and something came to me, It was as if my eyes were enlightened with wisdom."

Jack rolled his eyes, touching his nose.

Her heart was beating with excitement, Who the hell asked a girl he just met? In a restaurant of all places, to be his girlfriend, even though it is a fake relationship, she mused.

"I know you said you were going to pay but not everything can be settled with money."

He facepalmed and sighed, "Is it a yes or a no? I am getting bored with you beating around the matter. Just go straight to the damn point."

She smiled slyly and said sweetly, it is not good to curse when we are trying to negotiate, but out of the benevolence of my heart, she paused, stalling purposely.

"Yes, go on," he urged.

"I have decided to accept the proposal and also..." She was cut short by Jack.

"Glad to hear we are on the same page, I will send you the address of my office. You will sign a contract to solidify our deal and if there is any information you have to know, I will further it to you."

Jack didn't see any reason to keep talking to Lily, Since there was nothing more to say.

Lily was hesitant before she summoned the courage to speak, "Wait! There is something I need to confirm.."

Jack purposely cuts the call on her, he finds her very annoying.

"Hello!"Jack, she checked her phone to see if he was still on the phone but he wasn't.

"What a Jerk!" I thought it was ladies first before gentlemen. Forget what he did girl! He cut the phone on me, that's not my problem but his, she thought. As long as he is paying me eleven thousand dollars I can forgive that minor thing.

She screamed out in excitement, "Who did it? I did it, who is going to walk away with eleven thousand dollars without stress, without going to work and disturbing my head," she laughed.

"This girl," she pointed to herself.

She sang and danced around the living room, the show forgotten.

After dancing around the living room, she picked her her phone to call her best friend, "I finally told him I am going to do it," she squeaked excitedly into the phone as soon as she heard Emelia calling her name from the other end of the line.

"I am so happy for you girl," Emelia said happily, genuinely happy for her friend.

"I know, he told me he is going to send me the address of his office, I am so excited to sign that contract. At least I get the money."

"But be careful, you know all these rich guys they may want to use your head. Read the contract very well, if you don't understand something in it, ask the lawyer to translate it for you," Emelia advised.

"Sure, I will. So, how is the cafe going?" Lily asked.

"The cafe is going on smoothly but so much to do, we should round up our conversation, Ryan wants to talk to me about something, I guess."

Lily could tell Emelia was already distracted, she didn't want to delay her anymore, they rounded their discussion and ended the call on a pleasant note.

Lily was filled with merriment and gaiety, she continued her dancing.
