LILY POV
After Jack stormed off in anger, Lily sat on the chair beside Jack's father's bed in the hospital room for almost an hour, Lily was exhausted, she just wanted to throw herself on the bed and sleep. So, she decided to leave the hospital and head back to Jack's family home.
She met the friendly-looking driver but she didn't see Jack, "I thought Jack was outside." She said to herself.
The driver thought she was talking to him replied, "No, he left with the car, but I told Simon to bring another car."
Lily looked at the car, it was different from the previous car, she looked at the thin man whose clothes were too big for his thin frame, and his legs were too bony, Lily was scared he was going to fall, he was standing beside the driver. "You must be Simon." She spoke gently to him.
"Yes ma," he said and smiled broadly, happy that a beautiful lady acknowledged him.
She wondered how his head could stay on his bony neck, it looked like it was going to fall at any time. She was worried for him.
They entered the car and left for the house but she couldn't help but be worried for Jack.
As she got home, she was greeted by Rosa, who was conversing with a young lady who looked a lot like Jack, this must be Jack's sister, she thought.
Rosa introduced her, "This is Camily, my second daughter, she just arrived for the memorial. From Rosa's voice, you could hear the excitement in her voice.
Lily couldn't help but smile at the happiness bubbling in the older woman. Lily couldn't help but admire Camily's striking features - tall, tanned skin, and big blue eyes. She was dressed in a black gown and wore low heels, which gave her an elegant look.
Camily looked hesitant at first but she opened her mouth and said, "Has Jack ever mentioned my name to you before?"
"Seriously! She didn't ask how are you or something, guess the Haden family are a direct bunch," she said in her mind.
Lily shook her head and said truthfully, "No, he hasn't mentioned your name to me before."
Camily had a sad expression on her face, and Lily could sense that something was wrong. She wondered what - what kind of relationship does Jack have with his family?
Camily was still sad and turned to her mother, "After so many years, he still hates me for something I had no control over."
Lily was curious but she wanted to reduce the sadness looming in the air, she smiled and spoke to Camily, "We just started dating recently, he can't tell me about you in such a short span." She laughed awkwardly.
Camily smiled grimly, "You don't understand Lily, I didn't know."
Lily couldn't help but feel a deep sense of unease emanating from Camily.
Sensing Lily's confusion, Camily decided to excuse herself, leaving Rosa and Lily alone.
Rosa took it upon herself to fill in the gaps, "Camily is a bit too sensitive, although Jack blames her for something she indirectly caused that was in the past, I am sure Jack is over it." Rosa assured Lily that Camily was a wonderful person and someone she could trust.
Lily couldn't help but feel something was amiss here, ever since Jack landed in Mexico, he has become a shadow of himself. Camily's behavior is weird and Rosa trying to dodge the main problem is more strange.
As Lily made herself comfortable in her room, she couldn't help but think about Camily. She couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss.
Something serious happened between the siblings and she was damn curious.
