Chapter 3: The Proposal
Emily and I had been dating for a little over a year when I knew it was time to take the next step. I had never been one for grand gestures or over-the-top displays of affection, but I wanted to make this moment special.
I decided to propose to Emily on our one-year anniversary. I made reservations at our favorite restaurant and had the ring in my pocket the whole night, waiting for the right moment.
As we finished our meal, I asked Emily to take a walk with me. We walked to a nearby park, and as we sat on a bench under a starry sky, I took her hand and looked into her eyes.
"Emily, I never thought I would find someone like you. You make me want to be a better person, and I can't imagine spending the rest of my life without you. Will you marry me?"
Tears welled up in her eyes as she said yes, and we hugged each other tightly. It was a moment I would never forget.
We started planning our wedding, and it was a small but intimate ceremony with our closest friends and family. It was a beautiful day, and we were both filled with joy and happiness.
As we danced to our first song as husband and wife, I looked at Emily and knew that I had made the right decision. I may have never planned on getting married or having a family, but with Emily by my side, I knew that anything was possible.
