Chapter 6, Attempt To Change His Fate

Li Jain went to the workshop. There were lots of huge cabinets and three long tables arranged in order in the medicine workshop.

A huge book that has 3d images was opened on the table. Curious, Li Jain walked forward and flipped through it. It has been a long time since he last came in here. The first page was a potion for internal bleeding. The ingredients needed for the potion were shown with their name. The images were vivid as they stood tall on the page. The image is transparent as it tells you what the plant looks like.

Most of the books in this space were given to Li Jain by his seniors. He also got some from the secret realm. The book on the table is one of  the books he took from a decade old physician tomb.

Almost all of the cabinets were empty except for one that has lots of seeds in it. There were sixty different types of seeds in total.

Li Jain took some of the seeds to plant them. Back then, when he created this space, he used growth potions to nurture the soil. So the time it takes to grow things is shorter. As expected after planting the seeds, in less than a minute, all of them were ready to harvest.

Even the ginseng that would take four to five months before roots are ready to harvest, were mature in an instant.

Li Jain carefully harvested the herbs and placed them in separate cabinets, before planting more. When he harvested for the twenty-seventh time, he was both physically and mentally tired.

So far, everything in the space was good. But what about his snacks and fancy mansions? Could it be taken away because it didn't meet the requirements for this demitional? Although Li Jain had figured it out, he was still depressed over his snacks.

He plans to go to town tomorrow and see how much these herbs are worth. He got lots of mushrooms from the mountain during the morning, hopefully, they would cause a lot.

Li Jain was happy that his things were still in place but as he was about to exit the space, the poison in his body began to act up.

Yes, you heard it right. The original owner's body was poisoned with cold poison. It was after Li Jain used his internal energy that it acted up.

They not only reduce his cultivation to the lowest level, they also use an evil act and feed him with the cold poison. Once he uses his magic power, the poison will act up and eat all his energy.

No matter what he does, he'll never be able to level up and rise in this life. Since the cold poison is a forbidden act, no one has the cure for him. All his meridians were damaged by the poison and his only way out is by joining the demon path.

The Li family are all righteous cultivators and will never accept him joining the demon path. Maybe that's the goal of the person that poisoned him. But why does that person have to damage his life?

The current Li Jain was unable to accept this result. If fate doesn't allow him to live the way he wants, he'll just have to change his fate! Not when he has just gotten to know the children and give them hope, if that hope disappears in the blink of an eye, only God knows how they will carry on.

Li Jain quickly circulates his energy/Qi and draws the 'No Boundary' formation and sits in it. With blood at the corner of his mouth, he performs countless hand seals.

What is fate? What is destiny?

Destiny is what you create for yourself and Fate is when you fail to create your own destiny.

Tonight he will change his Fate and recreate his destiny!

All beings are able to cultivate from animals to humans, but why has the immortal way been cut off? Why are there cultivators, demons, and mortals? Why must others be able to live for thousands of years and others can't? Why are spiritual roots only given to some people and making them cultivators? Is it that cultivators are righteous and going the holy way? Of course not. So why is there a discrimination?

Why should people be tied down to fate? Even if you achieve immortality, you'll still die. If natural death can't carry you, someone will cut you off!

Why do cultivators have to use evil means to harden their peers' path?

There are Demonic cultivations and Righteous cultivations. Does that mean everyone cultivating in the demonic paths are evil? And those cultivating in the righteous paths are good?

Of course not!

Not everyone on the demonic paths willingly joined. Some were forced by fate and destiny. Even after struggling for so long, they still give way to fate.

By the time Li Jain formed the seventh hand seal, the clouds outside were fighting.

There was a huge black hole in the sky and countless lightning strikes and thunder sounds. All of these were not visible to normal people; only cultivators could hear the sound of thunder and lightning. In fact, only those with a higher level could clearly see the situation.

The old monk came from the temple and stared seriously at the sky. At the same time, he was counting the beans in his hand and murmuring chants. After a while, he stopped with a look of disbelief on his face.

"Master, what's wrong?" His disciple asked

The old monk looked at the sky a few more times: "Someone is trying to change their fate."

"Can that happen?" The disciple was surprised. This is the first time he heard of this; they also never learned this in the temple.

The old monk shook his head: "It's almost impossible. Once the fate is written in the book of fate, unless the person dies, erasing their faith will require lots of sacrifices. It's been a thousand years since something like this last happened, I didn't expect there would be a day I'd witness it again."

"Master, what would happen if the person succeeded in changing their fate?" The curious disciple continued to ask

The old monk explained: "If that happens, the person won't be considered a righteous cultivator anymore, neither would they be called a demonic cultivator. It's just that without the support of heaven, their path will harden. They would have to go through the punishment of nature law. When leveling up, their tribulation would be ten fold."

"What is it that happens that makes that person go through all the trouble?" The disciple was puzzled. Why change your fate if you can only suffer more?

"Maybe their path was hardened, or someone used a forbidden tenchine on them, or maybe their life was in danger. One way or the other, this is not a good method. The only person that succeeded was a thousand years ago and after that, every other person that tried ended up losing their lives. Which is why the method called, 'Change Of Fate' was declared forbidden and was destroyed from this world. To think that someone still dares to use it."

"Master, do you think he'll succeed?"

"It's going well so far." The old monk paused and frowned as he murmured to himself: "Strange, why can't I find his direction from the lightning strikes?"

The old monk was puzzle, back then, he was at the scene when the Lord 17 burnt the Change Of Fate method and no one was able to perfectly memorize all the hundred and fifty seals in such a short time. To think that someone was an exception? The old monk admires that person's intelligence.

By the time Li Jain finished up to one hundred and twenty-five seals, he was very weak, but he still persisted.

Some minutes later, lightning strikes were violently fighting in the sky. Loud thunder rumbled, as the dark hold grew bigger and bigger. Just when everyone's heart was becoming heavy, the sky started to brighten up and the clouds appeared little by little as the dark hole disappeared. Soon, everything was back to normal.

"He really succeeded. Things are beginning to get interesting." The old monk laughed and rubbed his beard.

"Master…?" The young disciple carefully calls out.
