Chapter 62: Training Inspection

The night went by peacefully. It was a peaceful night with no disturbances in the house. Now that their father's injuries have recovered fully, the family is back to being cheerful. All seven children were sitting at the dining table waiting for their breakfast. After a few days of eating all kinds of foods, it was about time to eat something delicious.

"Yujian, when are you going to show us your guardian spirit?" Yuhan supported his head with his right hand and looked at Yujian expectantly.

"Elder brother guardian spirit? I want to see it too." Juanxin said excitedly and his magic pet Fuffy also sat up and looked towards Yujian.

Li Cheng nodded in agreement: "Oh, I forgot that brother Jain awakened his bloodline days ago. The commotion at that time was so big that we couldn't watch the entire process."

"People outside thought that a legendary treasure was being born in our house and almost broke in... hahaha.... I can't wait to see the majestic guardian." Jingxuan giggled and snickered.

With six pairs of eyes staring at him, Yujian was speechless and didn't know how to tell them that their expectations were too high. But the snake beast didn't think so. Seeing how everyone was praising it, and waiting for its arrival, it raised its head proudly, feeling more majestic.

Yujian shook his head helplessly, after a brief hesitation he decided to let it out. But before he could, the beast saw an opening and immediately rushed out.

It shook its short wings, dust of the imaginary dust on its scales using its hind leg. It proudly jumped onto the dining table, walking with its head held high showing momentum.

The dining room was suddenly quiet. Everyone was dumbfounded as they stared at the beast standing in front of them. There was a moment of silence until Jingsheng asked uncertainly: "What is this thing? Juanxin, did father get you another magic beast?"

Juanxin was also confused, but he was staring at the beast with starry eyes, thinking how cute it was. Jingsheng words snap him out of his thoughts. "No, this is not mine. It's my first time seeing it as well. But it is very cute." He answered, smiling fondly.

Fuffy pouted and made a squeals sound in dissatisfaction: 'I'm also very cute.' But Juanxin didn't pay attention to it.

Li Zhang was only surprised by the sudden arrival of the strange beast for a moment but he wasn't attracted by it: "Forget this thing. Brother Jain, show us your guardian spirit."

Li Yujian looked at him and at the little beast on the table, the beast also happened to be staring at him. He held his forehead helplessly and pointed at the beast: "This is my guardian beast."

Come again?...

Did they hear correctly or is their brain playing tricks on them?

Yuhan looked at Juanxin who was currently apologizing to his fox and frowned: "Xin, keep your voice down. It's because of the noise that we couldn't hear brother Jian clearly."

Juanxin, who was wrongly accused, pouted and turned his face away, obviously not wanting to pay attention to Yuhan.

Yuhan cleared his throat and asked again carefully word for word: "Yujian, what did you say your guardian spirit was?"

The others also look over, hoping what they heard before was wrong.

Yujian sighed: "My guardian is not a spirit but a mythical beast." He pointed at the little beast and continued: "This beast."

Silent, dead silence. Even the wind outside ceased. After a moment, three brothers look at each other while holding back their laughter.

The one whose face shows a mixture of incredulousness and disbelief Li Zhang. "Your spirit guardian.... this thing? ... hahahahaha... I never thought I would see a day like this." he laughs hysterically. No matter how Li Cheng poked him to stop laughing, he couldn't hold it in.

Yuhan's expression was completely blank except for his slightly twitching lips, he was still trying hard not to burst into laughter but with Li Zhang taking the lead, he failed to control it. Looking at Yujian's cold face, blank eyes and the beast's adorable appearance, he just couldn't see the connection between them.

Juanxin had an opposite expression. He looks at Yujian with admiration: "Brother, what's it's name? You're so lucky to have such a cute beast." With Fluffy dead eyes staring at him, he added: "Just as cute as Fluffy."

"I haven't thought about the name yet." Yujian replied

Juanxin's eyes lit up and he suggested: "How about you name it 'Shinny'?

Yujian agreed without much hesitation, he couldn't think about a better one himself. The beast seems to be satisfied with its new name, thinking it matches its scales.

Li Jain heard the noise from the dining and looked in curiously. Jingsheng saw his father and quickly asked to confirm his doubts: "Father, why is elder brother's guardian looking like... this?" He tries to put it in the nicest way possible.

Li Jain looks at the once imposing beast and admires his word for a moment before answering. "Xiao Jian guardian is very different from yours. Its real body is very imposing so it had to take on a temporary form." He explained

Finally, it all makes sense

"Clean up the table, breakfast is ready." Said Li Jain as he went into the kitchen.

The children took the pets from the table and changed the tablecloth.

After cleaning, Li Jain brought the food and they all had a wonderful breakfast.

After the family had breakfast, the sign on the gate of the Tarven changed: "Spiritual Tarven was open for business" During the time it was closed many customers came by but they didn't get a definite answer on the reopening, so only few people came in and ordered takeout.

An hour later after digesting the breakfast, Li Jain and his children were in the training room.

"Things have been messy these days but that doesn't mean for you guys to slack off and lazy around all day. How far have you gone with your training plans?" Li Jain asked

The children immediately stood up straight. They were nervous as none of them had finished the list. Even so, some were more nervous than the others.

"Father, I couldn't use my spiritual energy these days so I only did physical training." Yujian said and looked at Shinny meaningfully. This beast was looking for every opportunity to possess him, making it impossible for him to use spiritual energy.

feeling hot glaze on it, Shinny looks away guiltily and pretends it didn't hear anything.

"Show me the results of your physical training."

Yujian nods and activates the level 3 physical training mechanism which has 30 troops. Those are the papermen that Li Jain personally designed. Once activated by the talisman, they'll take on forms and carry out whatever orders were given from the talisman instructions.

Once activated, they came rushing towards Yujian with burst force, like a flock of black birds swooping towards prey. Yujian was to this sight, unlike the first time when he was overwhelmed. He did wait for all of them to attack together before making a move. He ran between them with speed that made everyone gasp with surprise.

His movement was so fast that the paperman found it difficult to attack. He avoided all the incoming papermen attacks and started to perform several punches to every paperman he passed. Every paperman that was hit was reduced to pieces and dissipated, and then turned back into white paper. The it was powerful enough the drain out the energy in it, which cause it to dissipate.

Within three minutes , Yujian cleared the whole field and the papermen were back to their original appearance.

"Well done," Li Jain praised.

This wasn't Yujian original training but since he was unable to use spiritual energy he couldn't continue his training and had to do another temporarily. Therefore finishing the physical level 3 was a job well done.

But Li Jingxuan didn't think so, physical training is his training plan and he is currently stuck at the second level. He was under so much pressure, hoping that his father wouldn't judge him based on his brother's performance.
