W1.A1-18: The Mission

"You're such a bully!" Lena complained in a pouty voice. "My… my lower body is in pain."

I chuckled at her cute complaint while still savoring the lingering pleasure of the many rounds of sex we had.

At the moment, we were both lying on her bed, still completely naked. Oh, except for Lena, who still wore the short skirt that I didn't bother to take off. Riding over her plump thighs, it looked pretty sexy.

Lena had rested her head on my shoulder while her hands hugged me tightly, as if expressing the yearning she had felt during my absence.

"How come it's you?" I suddenly asked the question that I had in mind since I had recognized her.

"What?" she exclaimed dramatically. "Are you not happy that it is me who has come?"

Looking at her obvious act, I simply nodded. "Of course, I'm happy." Then I pointed at my cock, which had begun to rise again, and said, "I can show you the proof again if you want."

This instantly shut her up as she hurriedly used her hands to cover up her hole, which was still sensitive from our passionate adventure earlier.

I chuckled at her actions and couldn't help but rub her lustrous blonde hair.

"Tell me," I said.

Lena didn't throw another tantrum as she began to speak. "Well, it was just a coincidence." She shrugged. "After you left the letter saying you were coming to this region, I went to the Royal Mission Hall to take a mission myself."

"As you know, the missions are assigned randomly, and you can get one as long as you are qualified," she continued. "So it was really by chance that I happened to get the same mission as you."

"I don't think so." But I had a different outlook on the matter. "I mean, it is indeed a coincidence for you to visit the Mission Hall, but the chance of you getting this mission out of the dozens of them was quite miniscule." Then I paused and muttered, "Unless…"

"Unless what?" Hooked on to my analysis, Lena hurriedly asked,

"Do you remember the royal decree that ordered the guardian knights to leave their posts and come over to help in completing the missions?" I asked.

Lena nodded. "Yeah, that was totally weird, especially given the rumors that one of our neighboring nations is going to invade our kingdom."

"That's definitely a rumor." I said it with surety.

"Why?"

"Think about it," I said. "The guardian knights are the ones manning the borders, calling around half of them just to complete some missions." I scoffed. "Is there anything more ridiculous than that?"

"But didn't the defense minister say that defending is easier and that our knights are powerful enough to handle the pressure?"

"That sorry-ass of a minister said that?" I asked, the disdain in my gaze growing even more pronounced.

Seeing Lena nod, I shook my head. "Although defending is indeed easier, that's only when you consider the normal armies that number in the hundreds of thousands or even millions," I explained. "But what we are talking about here is master level and higher personnel; they are capable enough to bypass simple physical obstructions such as fortresses and the like."

"Besides," I continued speaking, "if our kingdom really had that much strength, then do you really think with the "great" personality of that king of ours, he'll be willing to maintain peace?"

"Then, isn't that stupid king basically weakening our defenses?" Lena asked curiously. Even with the seriousness of the topic, there was no panic on her face, only a little disdain when she mentioned the king.

"That would have really been the case." I paused before adding. "Had there really been a war looming in reality?"

"What?" Lena was surprised. "Then those rumors…?"

"Are false," I stated. "Deliberate, even." Shaking my head, I said, "I don't know what they are doing this for, but from the trend till now, they clearly want to distract the majority of the public by making them focus on external factors. While, according to my guess, the real problem might even be developing within our nation," I predicted.

Lena fell into thought. After some time, she asked, "Then, what does that have to do with the mission I took?"

I didn't even think as I replied, "It's quite simple, actually."

"You clearly took the mission without knowing the details, right?" I asked. "You only got it based on the evaluation of your mission completion rate and your personality evaluation, right?"

"Of course." Lena nodded before showing a smug expression. "My completion rate is quite excellent, you know?"

"I know." I nodded immediately before saying, "After all, I'm the one who finished most of them with you."

"Uh…" Lena turned awkward as she suddenly changed the topic. "You were saying something about the mission…"

I nodded and continued explaining, "You and I don't have the privilege to know the content of your missions in advance because we are only the disciples of a sword saint and not the royal family; it's only natural they don't trust us."

"But it's different for those guardian knights," I said. "They have basically been called to complete the sudden influx of master and grandmaster class missions, so it goes without saying that the missions have already been arranged for them in advance."

"I get it." Lena said. "You mean that because the majority of the missions got picked up by them, the reduced number made it possible for me to pick the same mission as you?" She then paused before frowning. "But doesn't that also mean that the missions all the knights took were of similar nature? I even saw them living in groups."

"Smart," I praised and petted her breasts.

"Oh, I forgot to ask." I suddenly remembered something as I was fondling her boobs. "You still haven't told me about the mission we have to complete here."

For such master level and above missions, it was their procedure to disclose such information only when the whole team was assembled and ready to leave. As I had left the capital in advance, I was not informed about anything. It was meant to be conveyed to me by the other member of my two-member party.

I was also curious as to what the mission could be, being so near my hometown.

"It's nothing special," said Lena in an off-handed manner. "We just have to take care of a guy who's running around this western region of the kingdom, pretending to be a member of royalty."

"A member of royalty?" I was dumbfounded before a laugh escaped my mouth: "Who is idiotic enough to take such a risk?" I chuckled. "After all, it's not like they have any real power unless they're in a high-ranking position."

"I don't know." Lena shrugged. "The mission didn't mention any personal information about the guy." She then added, "They only gave me a rough description and the information that he was going to appear here."

"That's odd." I muttered, but then let go of the thought and asked, "So, when do we begin?"

"Well…" Lena looked around before looking at her own mission bracelet.

"In about an hour, I guess."

"That's good." I nodded before pulling her over to me.

"Wha!?"

"We can go for a couple more rounds then."
