'The ease with which he repelled the Red Fleet's cannon fire... It's astonishing.'
As Rakiman watched the blue meteor shower raining down against the fleet's cannon fire, he couldn't help but feel a thrill. He was assured that he would win as soon as the fleet was summoned.
But that was far from the truth.
Instead, as the cannon fires began, Jin became even more fierce, emitting a powerful aura. There was no sign of confusion or wavering in his demeanor.
The fallen warriors and crew members of the fleet were also doubting their own eyes.
'Did compatriot Rakiman get defeated, and now even our fleet can't land a blow on him?'
'While our compatriots who went on the surface mission did give us a heads-up, isn't this too different from what they told us about him...?'
Amidst the shock engulfing all the Red Plutonian tribesmen on the battlefield, there was one person who remained calm, as if he had expected this outcome. It was fleet commander Shimat. Jin's meteor shower was already pushing back the cannon fires and engulfing the battlefield.
Furthermore, even amidst the horrifying explosions that distorted space itself, Jin was constantly moving. He deflected the cannon fire with his sword, dodged the flying debris, and advanced towards Rakiman despite the lack of visibility.
Rakiman couldn't move quickly as he was busy tending to the fallen compatriots.
'At the moment when Jin Runcandel suddenly appeared, what our compatriots were supposed to do... While Compatriot Rakiman bought time, they were supposed to use the Return technique. If I had been there from the beginning, I would have advised Compatriot Rakiman not to summon the fleet...!'
Summoning the fleet was the most powerful and final resort available to the Red Plutonian tribe.
The resurrection of the Red Plutonian tribe was still in its early stage. Even if all the awakened Red Plutonian tribesmen were combined, they wouldn't even reach a few hundred, and among them, only about 30% had fully regained their strength.
That's why the situation was dire, not only for the fleet but also for Rakiman himself, as the crew members who could operate the Red Fleet were woefully lacking.
"Compatriots, snap out of it! We need to rescue Compatriot Rakiman. Change the objective of the cannon fire! Instead of killing Jin Runcandel, we're changing course to rescue Compatriot Rakiman!"
Shimat's voice echoed throughout the battleship's interior.
"But, Compatriot Shimat! We haven't received any orders from Compatriot Rakiman yet. Changing the orders according to Compatriot Shimat's will..."
"You're talking about hierarchical authority? Look down there! Is Compatriot Rakiman currently in a situation where he can issue orders? If Compatriot Rakiman falls here, it will become impossible to awaken other Great Battle Kings."
The command hierarchy of the Red Plutonian tribe was absolute.
Right now, Shimat was violating that absolute rule. The lower-ranking Battle kings and ordinary warriors showed signs of hesitation.
"I'll take full responsibility. Flagship Labiet, assume the landing formation. I will personally go down and rescue Compatriot Rakiman. All Battle kings currently boarding the ships, assemble at Labiet! The rest of the fleet will protect Compatriot Rakiman and the flagship, and when I signal, gather all power to Labiet."
In the end, the Red Plutonian tribesmen decided to follow Shimat's words. The flagship of the Red Plutonian's 4th fleet, Labiet, formed a red shield and escaped through a dimensional portal. The Battle kings teleported to Labiet from their own battleships.
'Only the battleship that appears to be flagship is escaping through the dimensional portal. Moreover, the flow has changed from directly targeting me to obstructing my progress. Are they trying to rescue Rakiman?'
Except for Labiet, the other battleships continued their bombardment from within the dimensional portal.
'I can't let them have their way.'
A blue gleam appeared in Jin's eyes. It wasn't the opening of the next stage of his ultimate technique, but rather an intensified explosion of his power.
Fzzt! Zzzt!
The shield of Labiet, whose altitude is lowered, and the area of the Plutonian's Reign Sword were in contact. The combined attacks of the remaining Battle kings gradually allowed Labiet to infiltrate the area of the Plutonian's Reign Sword.
'Indeed, they seem to have much better performance than the battleships of the Human World. They must be unable to use their full power since even their illuminating hearts aren't fully recovered, yet they managed to break through these attacks.'
Ever since encountering the Red Plutonian tribe, Jin had been constantly amazed by their technological capabilities.
He also felt a tinge of envy. If he could properly analyze their technology, realizing the design of the "Golden Fleet" given by Boras wouldn't be such an impossible task.
'Let's see if you can withstand this.'
Overlord Sword - Meteor Destroyer.
This time, Hairan's secret technique, which started on the ground, shot a shining sword aura towards the battleship. Similar to the Plutonian's Reign Sword, the enhanced Overlord Sword Meteor Destroyer possessed power that could rival the original technique unleashed by Ron Hairan in the past.
A crack immediately appeared in the massive shield surrounding the dimensional portal. The Red Fleet scattered and barely avoided the incoming Overlord Sword Meteor Destroyer, which tore through the shield. Some of the battleships seemed to lose their balance as if hitting a reef.
Shimat inwardly sighed as he watched the scene.
'Did Jin Runcandel decide to target the fleet instead of the flagship? Fortunately, with that level of power, we should be able to hold out until the flagship secures Compatriot Rakiman.'
Following the Plutonian's Reign Sword, now there were meteor showers and Overlord Sword, Meteor Destroyers.
Jin had already unleashed three transcendent sword moves in succession. Shimat believed that no matter how strong Jin was, pushing his power any further would be impossible.
It took him a mere three seconds to realize that his thoughts were a misconception.
'Why is he suddenly sticking his sword in the ground? Could it be... Ha! He still possesses this much power...!'
Runcandel's First Decisive killing move, Heaven Shatterer.
[T/L: 쇄천 - Heaven Shatterer/ Heaven Crusher]
A massive sword aura poured forth, dividing the earth and the sky, originating from the sword planted in the ground. The target of that sword aura was Labiet, the flagship.
"Deploy maximum protective shields! Fire the concentrated power signal!"
Shimat's urgent voice spread as Labiet and the entire fleet glowed red and began resonating. Though Jin didn't know the Red Plutonian's technology, he instinctively sensed that Labiet was the focal point of the fleet's lightning energy.
'I may not know what it is, but I have to acknowledge their technological prowess.'
The sword aura of Heaven Shatterer struck Labiet's lower section. Though the shield wasn't torn, the impact caused Labiet to rise in altitude, increasing the distance between it and Rakiman.
Jin couldn't help but be impressed by the durability of Labiet's sturdy shield. Among the battleships present in the Human World, there was nothing that could withstand the Plutonian's Reign Sword and Heaven Shatterer without the help of a transcendent being.
However, as the strength of Labiet's shield increased, the intensity of the cannon fires noticeably diminished. As a result, Jin found it easier to advance towards Rakiman.
Jin and Labiet.
The key was who would reach Rakiman first. Jin didn't simply evade the weakened bombardment but charged forward, while Labiet increased its descent speed.
Naturally, as Labiet got closer to the core of the Plutonian's Reign Sword, the attacks it had to withstand increased. With each approach to Rakiman, cracks spread like crazy on Labiet's shield.
"Rakiman! You summoned the fleet and acted all confident, yet you're just hiding all the time?"
Indeed, it had been a long time.
Rakiman acknowledged that he was completely overwhelmed. It was similar to when he faced the Red Plutonian and the Blue Plutonian tribe' battle gods, or when he faced the first Great Battle King who had always overwhelmed him. It felt as if insurmountable walls blocked him from all sides.
Due to his characteristic calm demeanor, he wasn't seized by fear, but he had reached the point where he didn't want to face Jin again.
'Until all my compatriots awaken, I must avoid fighting Jin Runcandel as much as possible from now on. If I can survive today... and return.'
Because survival took priority if he wanted to fight again someday, Rakiman ignored Jin's provocation and searched for a safer area. He struggled, desperate to find a way to reach Labiet.
"Compatriot Rakiman! Please hold on a little longer. I can rescue you...!"
Thunk, creak!
Labiet's defense was gradually reaching its limit. The hull was breaking apart, fragments were falling, and the interior was filled with heat as overwhelmed ordinary warriors poured out.
Shimat strained his bloodshot eyes and continued transmitting power to the engines. His entire body trembled, and it felt as if his organs were melting away.
"Kraaaaack! Open the boarding gate...!"
Finally, Shimat's efforts bore fruit. Rakiman entered the range where he could board.
However, the boarding gate remained open only for a brief moment.
During that gap, the attacks of the Plutonian's Reign Sword, mixed with the attacks of the Overlord Sword Meteor Destroyer, penetrated the battleship, annihilating the crew members. The Red Plutonian tribesmen below the third-class battle kings, who were already exhausted from supplying power to the battleship, could not hold on and gasped for breath.
Rakiman, who had boarded the battleship, gasped for breath and coughed up blood. Andolin and the other battle kings lost consciousness completely, intermittently convulsing.
Within Rakiman's embrace were the illuminating hearts of the fallen compatriot from the ground. There was no opportunity to reopen the dimensional storage, so he had no choice but to hold onto them like this.
"Retreat! Increase the altitude!"
Labiet began to rise towards the dimensional portal. The battleship, which had been intact just a few seconds ago, was now in ruins, struggling to pick up speed.
Thanks to Rakiman, who had just boarded, squeezing energy from his illuminating heart, the shield was restored to some extent.
Strangely, the relentless attacks that had been pounding the hull subsided, but there was no sense of relief. Instead, their anxiety grew rapidly. There was no way Jin would stop attacking just because he was tired.
"Compatriot Rakiman! Adjust the dimensional portal to close as soon as we enter!"
As the Red Plutonian tribesmen had expected, Jin was preparing his final Magic Sword to strike them as they fled.
Runcandel's Magic Sword Secret Technique, Flame of Hell.
The attacks of the Plutonian's Reign Sword merged with Sarah's Magic Sword and instantly engulfed the battlefield. Tess, who had been summoned, was gathering the flames of hell in one place, heading towards Labiet, the flagship of the Red Plutonian tribe.
The blue flames quickly ascended towards the dimensional portal.
It was only then that Jin finally stopped his sword and looked up at the sky. Below the narrowing dimensional portal, he saw the spectacle of the flames of hell chasing Labiet.
'Damn it, Jin Runcandel's flames have entered the dimensional portal with us...!'
The dimensional portal closed.
The flames of hell barely disappeared into the dimensional portal along with Labiet, and Jin had one question in his mind.
'I missed. However, the flames of hell entered the dimensional portal along with their flagship. What will happen?'
Jin couldn't witness the outcome firsthand, but the Red Plutonian tribe had to sacrifice a lot to contain the flames of hell even after fleeing beyond the dimensional portal.
If they hadn't managed to escape through the dimensional portal...
The resurrection of the Red Plutonian tribe would have come to an end today.
