Chapter 824

November 7, 1803.

"Wow... This is the gift that kid, Luche, prepared for me. It's quite a rare item."

Swish.

Murakan said, scratching his back as he lay down on the side. There were stacks of cookies baked by Latrie and a basket full of eaten strawberry pies nearby. Murakan was reading the magazine that Luche had left in Tikan.

"Hmm, not even a copy, but the original. How did he manage to get this valuable item during the conflict? He must be quite resourceful. I really like it."

"Murakan, are you slacking off again?"

"Who is slacking off? Cuicantelle, there's nothing for me to do."

"Everyone else is busy except for you."

"What am I good at? Fighting. But now there's no fighting. So, I guess I'm just enjoying my time, you know?"

"Well, I suppose that's true."

The Red Plutonian tribe continued to invade the Lutero Magic Federation. The conflict between the two factions was known as the Red Plutonian War.

Even though Elona had been released from her seal, Zipfel couldn't gain an advantage. Instead, they were struggling with the relentless attacks. This was due to the fact that they lacked spatial teleportation technology, unlike the Vamel alliance.

Of course, Elona's presence was not entirely meaningless.

If they couldn't pinpoint Elona's location and struck the area where she was waiting, or miscalculated the time she would arrive on the battlefield, the Red Plutonians facing her would without exception perish.

From the Red Plutonian tribe's perspective, the fortunate thing was that no aerial fortresses or Great battle king-class warriors hadn't encountered Elona yet. They already classified her as a presence above the Blue Plutonian Tribe's Battle God.

There was a sign of movement in the corridor. Murakan recognized that they were the footsteps of Jin and Gilly and quickly hid the magazine and cookies from sight.

"Oh, you're here. Kid. And my strawberry pie. I was meditating. You may know, but when you have this much power, even organizing it takes quite some time."

"Clean the cream off your mouth before you speak. It's obvious you were fooling around."

"It could be considered part of meditation, you know."

"Sure, if you say so. Come on, we're going to the Sword Emperor's territory."

"The Sword Emperor's territory? Alright. Is my strawberry pie coming too?"

"Gilly has a lot of work to do, so she needs to rest. If you want to play with Gilly, you also have to do something."

"What's with the cold words? Are you saying I can only have a date with my strawberry pie if I do something?"

"Isn't 'date' and 'having fun' a bit different in meaning?"

"Well then, Strawberry Pie, do you agree too?"

"Well, rather than looking at the magazine here...?"

"Huh, I see. In that case, I will make sure to do something meaningful and come back. Let's go, kid!"

Murakan said, following Jin as they stepped outside. Gilly watched their backs and burst into a smile.

"Ugh, argh, even though I regained my old powers, I just can't get used to this."

After the Red Owl's spatial jump ended, Murakan vomited again.

"I have to go all over the place today. What are you going to do?"

"Ugh... For the sake of playing with Strawberry Pie, I guess I can handle this much."

"Jin, you're here? Lord Murakan is here too."

"Elder brother Jin, and the great black dragon Murakan!"

Valeria and Luche greeted the two.

"Oh, Luche. I received the gift well. It's a piece that can definitely go into my collection. If you have any wishes, let me know!"

"Well, there are some parts in the shipyard that need significant adjustments. Please solve them with your great power, Lord Murakan! It seems like it will take some time with the knights and mages here."

"Seems like it's a meaningful task that Strawberry Pie would approve of. Good, let's go!"

Immediately, Murakan followed Luche and entered the inside of the shipyard.

"What about Doctor Qwaul?"

"Lately, Dr. Qwaul mostly leaves the construction work to Luche and focuses on research. He's in the lab with Honka, but be careful because he's in a sensitive state. He's almost going crazy. It's better not to disturb him. If someone other than me goes in, he will make a fuss."

Toad Honka, the monster with the inner core, had spent the longest time with Maliet Hister in the past. That meant Honka had witnessed the process of Maliet creating the Iello.

Thanks to that, Honka's memories were proving to be a great help in creating the mass-produced Iello. Although Honka didn't fully understand Maliet's work, whenever he explained what he saw and heard, Qwaul used it as a basis to make deductions.

"I see."

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the growth of the Vamel alliance depended on Qwaul's research results. From the distribution of communication devices, development of mass-produced Iello, the Golden Fleet, the Laprarosa project, to the mass production of Red Owls – all of these tasks were Qwaul's responsibilities.

Moreover, Zipfel and the Red Plutonian tribe were busy fighting the war, so they couldn't exert pressure on the alliance, and Orgal's and Zephyrin's condition was still not improving, making it the perfect time for Qwaul to concentrate on research.

Among them, especially the communication devices and mass production of Iello were tasks that needed to be achieved immediately. Although it was the Red Plutonian War for now, there was no telling when it might escalate into a world war.

Moreover, it wasn't just the Red Plutonian tribe that posed a problem.

The Demon seal wall guarded by Ameris.

If by any chance it crumbled, the remaining demons in the netherworld would start to act, and they harbored no good feelings for the surface world. After the world was split in half, the demons were unwillingly confined in the nether.

The majority of the demons' goals were the resurrection of the Sun God or occupation of the surface world.

-[The entrance to the netherworld is solely here. Yet, it is surprising that someone pulled the mortals from the nether to the surface without my knowledge... It's quite vexing. I don't know what trick he used, so I have to find him and punish him. How many demons did he summon?]

-I can't know for sure, but I estimate it won't be more than ten thousand. However, there are probably no more than ten truly powerful demons that could pose a real threat.

-[Just gathering dust, it seems. He must have used his steel portal ability that you mentioned.]

According to Ameris, the demons that Orgal was leading were merely 'dust' compared to the whole. Moreover, since they possessed ancient technology like the Red Plutonian tribe, the current Vamel alliance would find them difficult opponents.

'Of course, it would be best if the Demon seal wall doesn't get breached... But Elona's seal collapsed without any warning."

The Demon Seal Wall and the sealed Demon King Zito.

Jin had a strong intuition that they, too, would break free one day just like Elona. The Vamel alliance and human world both needed to firmly hold their ground even after all those threats surfaced.

Murakan's return alone wouldn't be enough. The fact that Zipfel, even with Elona, was struggling against the Red Plutonian tribe and the wavering war proved that. It wasn't the power of an individual but the overwhelming strength of the entire faction that was necessary.

"I'll update you on the progress. The communication devices will be manufactured in quantities of five or more and distributed to each outpost soon. The portable communication devices are already under prototype stage, but they still need improvement before actual use."

"Still, the fact that prototypes are already available is impressive. It is much faster than what Sir Jen and Sir Teben expected."

"While there are no prototypes of mass-produced Iello yet, it seems Dr. Qwaul is gradually finding clues thanks to Honka. As Honka claimed, they will likely be completed within a year as planned."

"A year, huh? The Red Plutonian War won't be over in that time. Unless there are issues with the Demon Seal Wall and Zito, we should have enough time."

"As for the Golden Fleet... Well, we've achieved some results from analyzing the Red Plutonian tribe's recently obtained wreckage. However, there are fundamental issues. You know about them, too, right?"

"I heard they require a large number of illuminating hearts."

"That's right. We need illuminating hearts or something equivalent to convert into a power source. And to obtain enough illuminating hearts, we have to complete the Laprarosa return project or obtain them from the Red Plutonian tribe. The former might take an unknown amount of time, and the latter is very unlikely to work. The design of the Golden Fleet is based on the illuminating hearts of the Plutonian Tribe, not the Red Plutonian tribe."

"It is not a situation where we can snatch illuminating hearts from the Red Plutonian tribe. To do that, we would have to participate in the war, and using the Red Plutonian tribe's illuminating hearts feels uncomfortable."

"Even if we had the illuminating hearts, converting them into a power source would be another problem. It's not an area that can be solved with technology. At least, that's what we've discovered so far."

"If it's not technology, does it require divine power?"

"Probably. The missing parts of the Golden Fleet's blueprint that your brother Boras provided. They might be related to that."

Finding the missing parts of the blueprints at this point would be impossible. Those parts were lost even before the current Plutonian Tribe was trapped in Laprarosa.

"So, the Golden Fleet won't be completed without my enhanced record magic or some revolutionary means. Of course, if given enough time, it's possible to create a fleet similar to the Golden Fleet, but..."

To enhance her record magic, Valeria needed to find succession temples, but she hadn't found any since Maliet.

'In my previous life, Valeria seemed to have found most of the succession temples when she was around twenty-seven or twenty-eight. This time, because of the changes I caused in history, there's a high chance it'll be faster... But there are too many burdens to just wait around.'

Furthermore, even if her record magic became stronger, it didn't guarantee that she would automatically find the missing blueprints. And even if she found it, there was no guarantee that the method to obtain it would be feasible in the present.

Thus, Valeria and Qwaul were focused on finding a "revolutionary discovery." They knew they had to come up with a method themselves.

"Indeed... the Laprarosa return project and the production of the Golden Fleet are the biggest problems."

"Yes, we're trying out thousands of experiments for those two issues. But, yesterday, Dr. Qwaul and I came up with one idea."

"What idea?"

"Caltor."

"Caltor?"

Yulian's guardian dragon, Caltor.

After being rescued by Jin from Joshua's mansion in the past, Caltor had consumed part of Ozdock's inner core but had not yet regained consciousness. Given that his heart was completely shattered, it was inevitable.

However, thanks to Yulian's devoted care and the efforts of their companions, there were signs of him gradually recovering recently.

"Yes, the Thunder dragon, Caltor. When he wakes up, I plan to attempt to communicate with the Storm God, Peitel. Peitel's power is a thunderbolt, and fundamentally, he's a god, so his abilities should be significant. He might become the solution we need."
