Chapter 835

The first thing Jin's group saw was the mountain range changing its shape like dough.

The jagged mountain peaks, spreading in all directions from the center like a storm, were warping.

The phenomenon was caused by the mountain range's shadows moving at the will of fake.

It wasn't about sheer destructive power or incredible technique.

It was a power used by the fake called "Shadow force release," a truly divine ability.

This power allowed the fake to control shadows at will and exert a deadly influence on its targets.

"Groan, aaaaah!"

"Da-Dame Frey...!"

"Aaaargh!"

The knights of the Storm Castle were writhing and screaming. Frey was resisting the fake's power, but most of the other knights felt their shadows being consumed, experiencing terrible pain.

Crackle, crash-!

The rising shadows devoured the knights like wildfire.

In an instant, the castle was filled with a river of blood and shadow force, and Frey looked at them with trembling eyes.

'How can I... How can I save the knights...!'

Frey's head was throbbing, and she felt her insides twist in agony.

Even she could only offer temporary resistance, and if the fake continued to use this power, she would meet the same end as the knights.

"Stop... you son of a...!"

Frey plunged her hand into the freezing shadow force up to her ankles, searching for a spear to throw.

But the moment she gripped the spear, her fingers, stained black by the shadow force, were twisted back, and touched the back of the hand.

Despite the pain of her fingers being pulled, she threw the spear as it was.

The spear attacked the fake even more fiercely than before, but it couldn't reach him.

The spear stopped about five steps away from the fake, disappearing into the swirling shadow force.

"As expected, your reaction is quick. About five hundred might have died. How do you feel, fake? Do you realize how ridiculous you look in my eyes?"

Shadow force release, Black Chain.

Murakan's Shadow force release tore through the fake's shield and shot out black chains.

But the fake dispersed like smoke, reappearing in the air in its original form, spreading its wings toward the Storm Castle.

The distance between them closed too quickly. The party tried to follow immediately, but the fake's breath swept through the Storm Castle first.

[Frey!]

Murakan unconsciously shouted.

"I'm okay!"

Fortunately, Frey was holding off the fake's breath with her halberd and executed a magic sword technique.

Runcandel Magic Sword Secret Technique

Hamalen's Wrath - Frey Runcandel

As if the Myriad Ice was unleashed, bone-chilling cold descended upon the entire battlefield.

The fake's body froze instantly, and Frey leaped forward, swinging her halberd toward its heart.

With the sound of shattering ice, a massive wound was left in the fake's chest.

Jin's party did not miss the opportunity and aimed for the fake's rear once again.

Swish...!

Jin, the Ten Great Knights, with their swords and spears simultaneously pierced the fake's back and chest.

Each of them felt the sensation of their blades hitting the heart.

At that moment, Jin activated Eternal flame.

The perfect moment to strike the heart had come faster than expected.

Jin's Eternal flame, Frey's Secret Technique, Dranax and Vyollo's decisive killing moves – all of them struck the fake's heart simultaneously.

[Aaaargh...!]

For the first time, the fake's posture completely disintegrated as it let out a terrifying scream.

The party did not miss the opportunity and stabbed its heart once more, while Murakan struck the exposed wound with his Black chain.

Murakan concentrated his shadow force into the Black chain, as if he were about to rip the heart out.

The Black chain firmly grasped the heart, but it couldn't pull it out and was eventually severed.

Jin and the Ten Great Knights were also pushed back to the ground by the energy released by the fake.

The shadow force gathered in the fake's torn chest.

Frey looked up at the tightly closed chest, breathing heavily.

[I said there is no one among you who can kill me. Fake contractor, I am very pleased with it, but unfortunately, it didn't work. With that level of attack, you can't pierce my heart.]

"Such nonsense won't extinguish the flames burning in your chest."

[Ah, these flames... They are quite stubborn, aren't they? Even if I wanted to spare you, I couldn't.]

Without responding, Jin switched his sword to Bradamante and activated the flame of hell.

It seemed like the Plutonian's reign sword could restrain the movements of the Ten Great Knights. Jin does not know about partially unfolded, but if he fully unleashes it, the Ten great knights will undoubtedly be hit as well.

'If we were outside, it would have been better to buy time with the Plutonian's reign sword and plan for the future, but this is a world where only Mitel exists. There is no place for us to retreat to.'

Just as the Ten Great Knights had accepted Jin and Murakan as genuine comrades, Jin and Murakan no longer saw them as mere paintings.

Just as Kaytam had said, inside the painting, the painting was reality, and even from the outside, they were the true ancestors of Jin.

'The sword of Sarah...!?'

'It's Sarah's flame of hell!'

The Ten Great Knights were surprised by the sight of the flame of hell, but they didn't ask about it.

Meanwhile, the fake was amplifying its shadow force once again.

Perhaps due to the characteristics of the subspace within the painting, Tess was not summoned.

'It's a shame Tess isn't here. Its flames might have been able to deal more damage to that fake's heart than all of us combined.'

No attack so far could be deemed clearly effective.

Yet, Jin, Murakan, and the Ten Great Knights continued to charge at the fake undeterred.

The knights who survived the fake's first Shadow force release also held their swords firmly, with resolute faces.

Even if the fake killed them all with one breath, they seemed determined to hold their souls firmly in place.

The flame of hell entwined around the fake, lowering its altitude once more.

The fake was conscious of the properties of the Eternal flame imbued in flame of hell and swung its wings.

However, it was not possible to block the fake from getting closer to the Storm Castle.

Its colossal shadow was gradually enveloping the Storm Castle's walls with a dark shadow.

The knights touched by the shadow were frozen in place, swallowed by the darkness, and their weapons quickly lost their radiance.

[Today, I decided to destroy Storm Castle and retrieve Barisada. It means the future is already predetermined. No matter how much you struggle.]

[It is funny how you talk like a third-rate villain, afraid that Temar will return and reveal your cowardly side.]

Now, the party and the fake were engaged in a fierce battle in the sky of Storm Castle.

With the help of the knights, Murakan pushed the fake back into the castle, causing parts of the buildings to collapse, and massive debris scattered around with each attack.

Amidst this, the mountain ranges imbued with the fake's shadow force were quivering.

Jin and the Ten Great Knights were pushing back the torrent of shadow force pouring down from the mountain ranges to restrain its control over space.

The flame of hell was still burning fiercely, melting away the fake Murakan's scales.

Occasionally, organs, including the heart, were exposed. Some organs were destroyed and regenerated repeatedly, but no matter how many times they stabbed the heart, not even a small gasp came from the fake.

The fake seemed to have grown accustomed to the pain, not even screaming anymore.

The Ten Great Knights were breathing heavily.

The power of their sword strikes had not diminished, but the time was undoubtedly on the fake's side.

Its shadow force was exploding more fiercely.

'I can do it…'

Jin focused his mind, just like in the past.

Just like when he gathered his determination while facing formidable enemies, he was reciting incantations now.

He believed he could cut the fake's heart, that there was nothing in the world he couldn't cut.

Unlike in the past, this belief was now much closer to the truth than a lie.

'Especially when it is a fake, a mere existence that has already been exposed as a lie.'

Bradamante was imbued with shadow force.

When the darkness filling the blade was at its deepest, the fake turned its body and glared at Jin.

For a moment, it was deluded into thinking that Temar had returned.

The fake was seeing Temar's appearance in Jin.

[I'm getting more and more annoyed by this...]

The Ten Great Knights felt the same.

They, too, were sensing Temar from Jin.

In moments of despair, when hope seems lost, they find those deep, resolute eyes that used to appear, staring at the enemies.

"Did you say the future is already predetermined, fake?"

Jin narrowed the distance between him and the fake, cutting through the shadow force extending from the mountain ranges and the fake's breath.

Murakan and the Ten Great Knights were blocking the fake's attempts to take flight.

For the first time, the fake showed a desperate defensive stance. It used its shadow force to darken the surroundings, trying to obstruct Jin's vision, and explosively released its energy to break free from Murakan and the Ten Great Knights.

Frey and Vyollo were knocked back, but Murakan and Dranax kept their positions, thrusting their enlarged sword and fangs into the fake's wings.

Ignoring the pain of its fixed wings tearing, the fake swung its front paw toward Jin.

Jin narrowly avoided the paw, though the wind pressure tore at his cheek and shoulder, he managed to wield Bradamante in retaliation.

Shadow Sword 1st Technique, Soul Slash.

The darkened blade pierced through the fake's front paw and sliced through its chest.

The fake's mouth gaped open as if suffocating, and Jin swiftly swung the sword again, targeting the heart.

The blade felt as if it caught on something before slipping away, giving a distinct sensation of contact. It may not have pierced through, but the Soul Slash attack clearly delivered a different impact to the heart.

The fake's eyes turned inside out as it convulsed, expelling its shadow force, which didn't immediately restore, but dispersed into particles and vanished.

Then, Jin, Murakan, and the Ten Great Knights noticed that the fake quickly moved back and dropped something.

Thud...

On the ground, a piece of heart, no bigger than a walnut, lay there.

As Jin stepped on it, the fragment crumbled.

The fake incredulously prodded its chest with its front paw as if it was not true, and Jin tightened his grip on the hilt of Bradamante.

"The future you spoke of was wrong."

In an instant, Jin once again executed Shadow Sword, assuming a stance.

The Ten Great Knights stood beside him, and Murakan took a position above them.
