Luntia Runcandel.
She was currently trapped in the subspace of the Kaldran Snowfield.
"Yes, I was heartbroken when I heard the news of her."
Jin remembered how Luna had difficulty while interacting with Luntia. Luntia was the only sibling who can speak against Luna, even when Luna is ferocious.
The siblings rode on the Red owl and headed towards Tikan first. They needed Bale to enter the subspace of the Kaldran Snowfield.
"A great knight from a thousand years ago... It's fortunate that Sir Bale is once again aiding our clan."
"Hmph, what's fortunate about it! It's all because I foolishly mishandled the golden seal."
"If my youngest brother gets too arrogant, let me know."
"Oh, then what happens!? Can you scold the brat who doesn't even know how to treat an ancestor!?"
"No, nothing will change that way. It just means you can vent your anger in front of me."
"Unnie, big sister! Can I call you big sister? Lady Luna. Haha, I'm Sandra Zipfel, who will be Jin's wife. Please take care of me from now on!"
"Of course, Sandra Zipfel."
"Luna unnie, ignore what that strange meat says. Now that we're companions, I might not be able to kill her, and she's just being annoying. I didn't like her from the moment I saw her in the Sota Desert. Should've killed her then."
"Ugh, here she goes again, our little sister. Actually, she likes me."
"Eh, go away!"
Sandra fearlessly hugged Yona and giggled. In Luna's eyes, Yona's flustered expression seemed like a normal person.
"Oh, our little sister is always so adorable. Is her being picky just a cute act? Anyway, hey! Bale, take care of Jin, my sisters, and young masters. If you cause any inconvenience to them or make any mistakes, I'll beat you with my sandals when you return."
"Ha... How did my situation come to this? Fine, fine, I got it. Just stop yelling..."
"Jin, you're going to meet that child named Luntia, right?"
"Yes, Ms. Ameris."
"In that case, I thought I might join you. It might not look great for me to be present at a gathering of siblings, but I've been thinking since I first heard about that child. Perhaps I could be of assistance."
"I wanted to talk to you about that before leaving. Please come with us."
And so, the siblings, Bale, and Ameris once again rode on the Red owl and headed towards the Kaldran Snowfield. The snow-covered land was caught in a blizzard.
When Jin went to see Luntia for the first time after the evil god war, he had been deeply anxious. The subspace was filled with chaos, and Luntia might have lost her sanity and turned into a monster.
However, he has an inexplicable sense of anticipation now. Perhaps, there was a hope that today Luntia might be freed from the subspace and return to the clan.
As Bale transformed and released his power upon entering the cave, a golden aura filled the cave, forming a dimensional portal leading to the subspace.
'The chaos... it's lighter than when I came here last time.'
As soon as they entered, it was clearly noticeable. The siblings looked at Jin's expression and could tell that there had been a positive change within the subspace.
[Oh... what's this?]
Luntia emerged from the darkness.
[It's been a while everyone, I am genuinely happy to see you all.]
"Luntia..."
Luna and others approached Luntia.
Even though they hadn't exchanged any words yet, everyone could immediately see that each of them had changed slightly.
[You must have suffered greatly in the Black Sea, but you seem even more imposing. Could it be that Father has returned too?]
"No, only uncle Zed and I, the former Black Knights, have returned. You're not like before, not ignoring the world."
[Is that how it seems? I had that change even before being trapped here. I regained some meaning in life after our youngest defeated me. But I ended up here even before getting a chance to do things properly again.]
"Hmm, well! What's wrong with you, Elder sister Luntia? You're quite impressive."
"That's right, elder sister. While you've been practicing here, we're working hard too."
"Since when did these peasants become so familiar with Luntia unnie?"
"Oh, so elder sister Mary was close with elder sister Luntia? We'll gradually get along from now on."
"Well, that's true. Oh, Luntia unnie. Even though you were already so strong back then, now you're even more unrivaled. It's just palpable, how much stronger you've become. I don't know who would win even if I were to fight you."
[It's not to that extent, Mary. Why is Yona acting so shy?]
"Hehe... Well, I wanted to touch unnie's horn."
As Yona candidly brought up the topic of horns, the siblings exchanged puzzled glances. Luntia chuckled and tousled Yona's hair.
Along with the horns, the connection that bound Luntia to the subspace remained unchanged.
[These ominous things give bad luck if you touch them, Yona. They'll disappear once I regain my old appearance. The Youngest said he would help.]
"Yeah, it's not because they're cute or pretty that I want to touch them, I just want to know if I can cut them. It's nice talking with you, unnie, hehe."
[I feel the same way, Yona. If I get out of here, we should hang out more often. By the way, Jin, who's this person?]
"It's Ms. Ameris, elder sister. She's someone who has protected the world since ancient times."
"I've heard that time passes faster here than outside. Since there might not be enough time for you siblings to talk, it might be better to hear more about me later when you're out. However, the reason I came here is to help you, so if that goes well, today you might be freed from here."
[Are you saying you can free me?]
"Looking at your state, it seems possible. The muddy energy here is lighter than what Jin told me."
At these words, everyone's eyes widened.
Especially Jin, who had harbored a strange sense of anticipation in coming here, never expecting Ameris to give such a direct answer. Jin believed that liberating Luntia would only be possible after Vahn was released from Laprarosa.
[Oh, the chaos got lighter when I recently achieved some results in my training.]
"It might be a result of gaining insight and a special power through your training. Similar to Jin's Eternal flame or Luna's Crimson Sword Technique."
[A special power... I haven't gained any new secret techniques or decisive killing moves. I've just honed the skills I already knew.]
"Such power doesn't necessarily take the form of martial arts or techniques alone. There must have been some change in you. Think about it."
[Oh, come to think of it, for the past few days, a strange light has flickered on my palm when I gathered energy.]
"Show me."
As Luntia began to channel her energy, the siblings could only marvel once again. An indescribably clear and mighty aura and mana vibrated throughout the subspace.
"Wow, my predictions were correct."
Ameris' pupils trembled as she examined Luntia's palm.
[I don't know what this light signifies. It's just a faint light... I didn't feel it would make my sword stronger or anything.]
"This light is the result of your will finally taking form."
[My will...?]
"If you don't know, I can't know what it signifies either. When the will of an entity takes form like this, it can take on various shapes. However, upon closer inspection, this light seems to resemble a star."
"Listening to Ms. Ameris, it does seem star-like. Two on the left hand, one on the right."
"Heh, it's really pretty. I want to touch it."
"You probably spent a long time admiring stars or wanted to become a star yourself. Whether symbolically or practically."
Upon Ameris' words, Luntia momentarily reflected on her past days.
'Stars... stars.'
Admiring stars and desiring to become one.
Suddenly, she remembered the stories from her childhood, told by her nanny Lisham.
-My lady, you can certainly become a huge star like Lady Luna. This nanny dreams of the day when you ascend to the sky and become a star brighter than Lady Luna."
It was the day she had lost to Luna and lying on a hill, gazing at stars endlessly.
'Right... Since then, the biggest star to me has been Luna.'
And after Luna gave up on the patriarchy, Luntia lost the meaning of life. She spent her days in idle tranquility, filled with meaninglessness.
Then, a new star called the youngest arose within her heart. After she was defeated by Jin during the patriarch declaration.
-Lady, I wish you good fortune. You've come this far and will continue forever.
The day after the declaration, Lisham shed tears as she intuited the emergence of a new star within Luntia.
'Two stars on the left hand for Luna unnie and the Youngest... and one on the right for me...'
Luntia turned her head to look at the stars standing beside her.
"...I think I understand what these stars mean, Ms. Ameris."
"Ah, Elder sister... Luntia! Your voice...!"
"Your voice has returned to how it was before!"
Hearing Luntia's suddenly changed voice, the Tona brothers shouted in surprise. Her voice no longer contained the dark resonance of chaos.
The stars she held in her hands emitted even clearer and stronger light.
And Luntia realized.
This was the reward she gained for not giving up on life, even after being betrayed by her mother, sacrificing herself for Lisham, and becoming a monster. She had finally become a star like Luna and Jin.
She had overcome despair and indulgence, seizing the light in her hands.
"All I had to do was to reveal the meaning of the power you gained. The chaos is already being absorbed into those stars."
The chaos of the subspace was being drawn into Luntia's palms. Then, the connecting points started dissolving, but it didn't affect Luntia.
"Oh, now it's your turn to confine the subspace within you. Even if I hadn't come, if you alone had understood the meaning of that light, you could have left this place anytime. "
The reason Luntia's stars could absorb the chaos was her determination to keep shining.
To dispel the darkness that blocked the light. Luntia's will, which worshiped and long for the stars, was the reason she was shining like that.
Soon, the entire subspace vanished into Luntia's palms. Stepping onto the cave floor, Luntia looked back at her siblings.
Without needing to say a word, the siblings embraced each other. In the cold of the snowy field, they could feel each other's warmth.
It was the first time they had experienced being siblings.
