As soon as Tujad implanted the orb into his body, the scenery of the subspace began to change.
The storm grew even fiercer, and the lightning bolts became even denser. From the wounds on the Tujad's body, it wasn't blood but lightning energy that flowed.
Jin was annoyed by this.
'So, the energy of the Gram, was it something that could be used?'
Jin had come to find Peitel without considering using the energy of the Gram. He had just realized that the energy of the Gram existed in a usable form, because he hadn't heard the conversation between Murakan and Peitel due to dealing with the Tujad.
That's why he was annoyed. In a situation where any element that could help even a little bit with the Golden Fleet and the liberation of Laprarosa was regrettable, seeing Tujad using it now was frustrating.
Kaiman, Trax, Lujin, and Chin all glared at the Tujad with despairing faces.
[If you want to finish it, you have to finish it alone. What kind of nonsense is this?]
[I wish we could have retrieved the energy of the Gram and left, why are you making things worse, Tujad? You were entrusted with full authority because you were the strongest among us, and it was assumed that you also had that kind of judgment…!]
Even Trax, who was known as a madman, couldn't understand Tujad's choice and shouted in frustration.
[It is the first time I have used the power of a god. However, I don't think that using this power will help me to defeat you. However, it is worth it just to have more time to enjoy this pleasure.]
Tujad was truly a person with real madness. He cared not for victory or defeat in a fight; he was simply the type of human who found joy in fighting.
"Are you really going to give up on the promise of eternal life, that those guys are chanting over there, just to enjoy pleasure, even when you're convinced you can't win."
[Have you never had such an experience? Doing something knowing you'll lose, going into a fight even though you know you'll die.]
Of course, Jin had experienced such things several times.
However, he didn't do it for personal pleasure. He had always made those choices to uphold his beliefs and for the people behind him.
"Well, people have different thoughts and values. But it's not very pleasant to see someone prioritize their own enjoyment even while pushing their allies into a corner. As well as damaging the things I need."
Jin's eyes narrowed. The bloodlust emanating from him made the skin of ghosts tingle.
"Elder sister Luna, Elder sister Luntia."
"What should we do?"
"Quickly take care of the guys you're responsible for and join me. I think you have enjoyed enough old swords by now."
Luna and Luntia nodded. Mana infused into Charles and the Ax-sword along with Aura.
[Hey, Murakan, shouldn't you step in too? The energy of the Gram is not easy to handle. Aren't you being too laid back?]
Murakan chuckled at Peitel's worried words.
"If Gram himself were here, I might have done the same. But just being strengthened by residual energy doesn't mean anything."
It doesn't mean anything.
As Murakan said, Jin and the flagbearers genuinely thought so.
If Tujad had broken through his own wall and gained enlightenment in the midst of battle, there might have been a reason to be nervous. However, simply having enhanced strength wasn't at all threatening.
Still, Jin told the flagbearers to finish quickly and join him; it was to restrain Tujad's pleasure as much as possible.
Squeak-!
Krantel severed Trax's right arm and left a flash. Kaiman and Trax were in an even more dire situation due to the Gram's lightning energy emanating from Tujad.
"Trax, I wanted to give you a bit more pain. The crime of daring to harm Runcandel's children won't be erased in two hundred years, not even in two thousand. But since you won't gain eternal life, you'll continue to suffer somewhere after today anyway."
[Sh.]
Shit, Trax wasn't able to utter another word and his head dropped. Luna, after finishing off Kaiman, wiped the blood from Krantel.
Likewise, Luijin and Chin no longer had the strength to resist Luntia.
A few times before, they had exchanged blows with Luntia and tried to strike back with a counterattack, but even that didn't make any impact. Even the martial artists called the wall of Kurano and Fist Master, legends of their own right, couldn't even leave a scratch on Luntia's sturdy body.
"If you were born in a good era and died raising your name, that would have been satisfying. I don't know whether it's good to come back to life again just to witness such a plight. I don't have any ill feelings, but not backing down when our young patriarch first gave you a chance is an insult to Runcandel. The price for that is only death."
Lunita cut off Lujin and Chin's breath with Charle's blade.
All that remained was Tujad, enhanced by the energy of the Gram. Jin was already exerting pressure on Tujad with Battle god's sword techniques.
'Tujad doesn't know how to use the lightning energy at all, yet the destructive power is astonishing. It would be great if we could retrieve the orb and harness this energy.'
With Luna and Luntia joining in, Tujad's desired scenario was inevitably falling apart.
He had wanted to face Jin one-on-one, rather than being overwhelmed by Sigmund, Krantel, and Charles all at once.
Watching the three of them overpower Tujad, Peitel was once again shocked.
[...Surely, my brother's energy has strengthened that bug to its limits. Can this really happen?]
"In the first place, even if that little punk was alone, he could have taken down a guy like Tujad in 10 minutes. Even the patriarch of Attila clan, who I killed a while back, was still a man with some dignity, but this guy is just childish. Talking about pleasure and whatnot. He'll get what's coming to him."
Jin was not even using any trump cards like the Plutonian's Reigning Sword or the Magic Sword Secret Technique.
It was because the opponent wasn't worth showing such a sword. The fierce landscape of the subspace, as if thunder god had descended, and Tujad, whose appearance had transformed like a Plutonian because of Gram's energy, all seemed shabby in front of Jin and the flagbearers.
Tujad had given up even eternal life for the sake of enjoying the fight.
Jin, Luna, and Luntia, the three of them, had expressions devoid of emotion, focused solely on their "duty." Thus, the battle with Tujad was more dominated by Luna and Luntia than Jin.
It was flagbearers' duty to obey the young patriarch's order.
[Khh...!]
Finally, before even five minutes had passed, Luna and Luntia had completely subdued Tujad and he was kneeling in front of Jin.
There was no longer a trace of the madness of someone intoxicated by pleasure on Tujad's face. Nor was it filled with regret, but rather he had a look of profound disappointment because of the results that were far more meager than expected.
"Now, let go of the name 'Battle god' and you can disappear as you wish."
When Jin reached out his hand towards the orb embedded in Tujad's chest, Tujad looked up at him.
[...You seem to need the energy of the Gram.]
"Yes."
[This device has already fully assimilated with me. Forcibly removing it will lead to its destruction.]
"Is there a way to remove it without causing damage?"
[If you make one promise with me, I will personally release the assimilation and hand it over to you.]
"What do you want?"
[Promise me on the honor of Runcandel's young patriarch. Promise that if I give you this orb, you will fight me one-on-one, seriously and earnestly. That's enough for me.]
"You are truly a senior with an interesting mind."
For Jin, it was a proposal he had to accept.
He couldn't fully trust Tujad, but fighting him one-on-one wasn't too difficult a task, so he felt that it was worth a try.
Of course, he felt uncomfortable. He couldn't shake off the feeling of being used for Tujad's pleasure.
However, just as Jin was about to nod, Peitel swiftly ran up to Jin's side and stood next to him.
[Hmm, Jin! You don't need to listen to that bug's words.]
"Peitel?"
[I can retrieve the items containing my older brother's energy. In the first place, I can imitate my older brother's energy, which is why I was able to hide here. I'll retrieve it properly and give it to you.]
Peitel was changing his mind as he watched Jin's group fight.
Initially, he thought that it was unfair to promise Jin using the seal, but upon further thought, this was a situation where the pumpkin had rolled into the vines.
'Anyway, I have to uphold the promise because of the seal. However, if I end up out of their favor, I'll be in a predicament with nowhere to go. If I don't get help from Runcandel and Vamel's alliance, I won't be able to avoid extinction since Zipfel is after me.'
As a god, Peitel's reputation had already been shattered when he was defeated in the Blue Bird Islands while Jin was a reserve flagbearer. To be protected by Jin in the future, Peitel concluded that he needed to prove that he was still useful.
[Peitel, what the hell are you saying, you bastard...!]
[What is this bug blabbering? Did you think I'd believe that nonsense about you being able to control my older brother's power? Do you dare to deceive the commander-in-chief of our Vamel Alliance?]
"...Our Vamel Alliance?"
[Isn't it natural since Yulian and Caltor were part of the Vamel Alliance? Didn't I also automatically become a member when they rolled in? If not, then let me know the formal procedure. I'll perform it diligently. From now on, I've decided to stand on your side. If you forget about the old grudges and accept my assistance, that is.]
Yulian and Caltor could only lower their heads in embarrassment for some reason.
Jin understood Peitel's intentions and smirked.
"You thought well, Peitel. No, Mr. Peitel. From now on, Mr. Peitel is an official member of the alliance. Let's leave the past behind us. How do you plan to extract the energy of the Gram?"
[Suppress this bug for about an hour like this, and then I can safely retrieve it. I don't even need Zipfel's ugly device. I'll make a container right now and put it in there. You know the Thunderbow Harmilla, right? Compared to creating such a weapon, it's a straightforward task.]
[Shut up, Peitel! Why are you suddenly interfering and ruining things?]
[Then would I be doing you a favor to a bug like you, after you nearly got me killed? It's only right for me, who was saved by our commander-in-chief, to help him wholeheartedly. Keep your mouth shut and stay still. After I've extracted all of my older brother's energy, our commander-in-chief will surely kill you.]
As Jin accepted Peitel's opinion, Tujad ultimately lost his composure and shouted. However, due to the grip of Luna and Luntia, he couldn't even twitch.
Soon, Peitel sat in front of Tujad and gave Jin a chuckle and a thumbs up.
[From what I have heard, it seems like you need my ability to materialize authority. I will try to make anything you need from now on. You can entrust it to me, commander-in-chief! And Murakan, Luna, Luntia, and other bugs... No, friends.]
The reunion with the god, once full of animosity, concluded in such a good relationship.
