Scandalous images

One of the girls in the group, feeling offended by Ning Yu's words, retorted, "Who are you calling an idiot?"

Ning Yu, refusing to back down, shot back with a smirk, "Oh, you, dumb bimbo. The only thing you're good at is running to your parents to complain."

Li Na looked at the girls, realizing that they were sent by Xing Fei. She couldn't believe she had been so foolish to befriend someone like Xing Fei.

"I invited her here. What does that have to do with you?" Li Na retorted. One of the girls, said arrogantly, "I'm from the Ling family. Shouldn't you be licking my feet right now? Your family had to butter up to us to host a banquet for us. Aren't you afraid that my family will pull out from investing with yours?"

Ning Yu, angered by their audacity, was about to retaliate, but Li Na's reassuring look stopped her. Li Na then turned her attention back to the girls and calmly replied, "Aren't you embarrassed to say that? Your Ling family is nothing but a small corporation that came from the countryside. Pulling out will do nothing to the Li Corporation, but your family would find itself in hot water. So, who's supposed to lick whose shoes?"

One of them, unable to contain her anger, exclaimed, "How dare you!" Ning Yu stifled a laugh, enjoying the turn of events.

Suddenly, Li Jing appeared out of nowhere and turned to Li Na, asking, "Sister, what did you do wrong?" Li Na ignored her, not interested in engaging with her at that moment.

"Sister, please don't fight here. This is a public gathering," Li Jing pleaded, trying to act like a white lotus. Ning Yu sneered and retorted, "What utter bullshit are you saying? Which eyes of yours saw us fighting? Aren't you Li Na's sister? Why are you taking sides with strangers instead of your own family?"

Ning Yu then turned to Li Na, her voice filled with sympathy. "Wow, Li Na, my dear friend, you have really suffered. How did you endure all of this? Are you sure you weren't adopted?"

Li Na let out a sigh. "I've had my doubts as well," she said. Ning Yu continued, "I get it. She's not that good-looking anyway. You two don't look alike at all. Is she jealous of your good looks?"

Li Jing, who was standing there, was fuming. How could they talk as if she were invisible? She opened her mouth to counter back, ready to defend herself, but before she could utter a word, a loud gasp echoed through the hall. A person's voice rang out, exclaiming, "What's that?"

Everyone in the hall turned their attention to the source of the voice. Their gazes fixated on the screen where high-quality pictures of Li Jing smoking and drinking were displayed. The murmurs in the hall intensified as people reached for their phones, eager to capture the scandalous images.

Li Jing stood frozen, her eyes wide with disbelief. She couldn't tear her gaze away from the screen, as if hoping it would change before her eyes. Panic seized her, and she ran towards the front where the pictures were being shown, acting like a person possessed, shouting, "It's not me! It's not me!"

But her cries were drowned out by the growing commotion in the hall. Whispers spread like wildfire, and the once-admiring crowd began to distance themselves from her. The image she had carefully crafted as the refined and poised Li Jing was shattered in an instant.

In the crowd, the whispers grew louder as a group of young heirs gathered, amused by the sudden turn of events. One of them remarked, "Yo, is this how the Li family's youngest daughter gets down? Who would have thought? She always acted all prim and proper."

Another chimed in, "If I had known, I would have tried to get her for myself." They Laughed with a hint of mockery.

Zhang Mei, who had been engrossed in conversation with a group of ladies, turned her attention towards the screen displaying the scandalous images.

Disbelief washed over her as she muttered to herself, "This can't be my daughter. It must be fake." In mere moments, the same ladies who had attempted to flatter her were now eyeing her with disdain and quickly distancing themselves. One of them confessed, "To think I wanted my son to go on a date with her. Phew, I dodged a bullet. The Li family is a mess."

Zhang Mei's gaze turned sharp and fierce as she locked eyes with the lady who had spoken. Like a bull ready to charge, she approached her with an intimidating presence. The lady trembled under Zhang Mei's glare but refused to back down. With a arrogant tone, she retorted, "I suggest you go out and clear up your family's mess first. This is utterly embarrassing."
