Wang Yuling's Suspicion

Zhang Mei had been sitting there for a long time, refusing to leave his side. She didn't care about anything else, only him.

A nurse came in to check on Li Yifeng. She wore a mask and gloves, as did Zhang Mei. They were required to wear them in the ICU, to prevent infections. The nurse looked at the monitor, adjusted the IV drip, and checked the bandage.

She glanced at Zhang Mei, who was still holding Li Yifeng's hand.

"Mrs. Li, you should go and rest for a bit," the nurse said gently. "You've been here all day. You need to take care of yourself too."

Zhang Mei shook her head stubbornly. "No, I can't leave him," she said softly. "He needs me here."

The nurse sighed. "I understand how you feel, but you can't help him by staying here all the time. You need to eat something, drink some water, get some sleep. You need to have some strength to take care of him when he wakes up."
