Li Na jumped when she saw him. "Who says I was anxious?" she said, trying to act cool. But her voice shook, giving away her nerves.
Tang Zheng smiled, not fooled by her act. He knew her too well. "Come on, let's go," he said, leading the way.
"Where's the car?" she asked, looking around.
"Isn't it nice to walk once in a while?" he said, his voice warm and gentle.
"But the weather is too hot," she complained, feeling the sweat on her forehead.
He chuckled and said, "It seems I have spoiled you too much. Back in the day, didn't you have to walk to the bus despite the hot weather?"
Li Na felt embarrassed. It was true. She had gotten so used to the lavish lifestyle that he had given her that she had forgotten what it was like to suffer. She made a loud clicking sound with her tongue and said, "Did you come here to make fun of me? If so, you can head home by yourself."
Tang Zheng slowed down a bit, waiting for her to catch up.
