Li Enterprise…
The city was shrouded in a thick blanket of clouds as Li Jing stepped out of a cab. Her chin was held high, and her eyes carried the haughty detachment of someone who expected the world to part for her every step. Without so much as a glance at her surroundings, she moved toward the building.
As she approached the entrance, one of the security guards—a middle-aged man stepped forward to meet her.
"Miss"
Li Jing barely acknowledged him, her chin held high as she brushed past him without a glance. She was used to this habit; after all, the company belonged to her father, and everyone around here had been trained to suck up to her.
The guard, unfazed by her attitude, had seen it all before. He had worked for various companies over the years and knew that the children of wealthy families often behaved in similar ways—entitled and dismissive.
"Miss Li, you can't go in," he called after her, stepping into her path.
