"Start what?" he asked, his tone maddeningly calm.

"This," she gestured vaguely, frustration flickering in her eyes. "This game you seem to enjoy playing."

He leaned against the counter, his posture relaxed but his gaze unrelenting. "It's not a game, sweetie. Not for me."

"You… You shouldn't say things like that," 

"Why? Sweetheart." His lips curled into a small smile.

Li Na's lips parted, but no words came out. Her heart pounded in her chest as Tang Zheng closed the distance between them. She instinctively took another step back, but her retreat was cut short when her back pressed against the edge of the counter.

"Tang Zheng…"

He leaned in, his broad frame towering over her, the closeness making her feel even smaller.

"Don't you think it's high time I got a pet name?"
