Chapter 4: The Beauty's Reaction

As the morning sun shone through the mottled glass window into Yang Chen's room, he shook his head in a daze, intending to get up. However, he suddenly felt a soft something entangling him.

Yang Chen, now much more awake, looked down and saw the woman he had brought home after getting drunk last night. Her white lotus-like arm was wrapped around his waist, and under the towel blanket, a pair of plump breasts were pressed against his thighs. The delicate touch was as smooth as velvet. Her white, tender thighs were unabashedly wrapped around his lower body, and the tempting line of her groin, still bearing traces of last night's indulgence, was visible.

Combined with the innocent and beautiful face of the woman who was sleeping soundly at this moment, Yang Chen couldn't help but sigh. Among all the women he had ever seen, this woman was definitely capable of entering the top three.

Just as Yang Chen was marveling at the heavenly work of art that was the woman's body, the corner of his eye suddenly caught sight of a dry red bloodstain on the end of the bedsheet. His heartstrings were suddenly thrown into disarray. He frowned and looked at the woman, who was still indifferent, feeling somewhat surprised. This blood was certainly not his own. He just didn't expect that the wild beauty from last night was actually a virgin.

Many things became clear in retrospect, and Yang Chen quickly realized that the woman's initiative and indulgence last night were most likely due to being drugged by the bald men. If he hadn't accidentally scared off the group of men, this black-haired beauty would have become their prey. It was also because he had been drinking alone at home after getting drunk yesterday that he had not noticed anything strange until he got into bed.

As Yang Chen sat on the bed contemplating his next move, the woman lying on top of him finally stirred awake.

With a slightly bewildered expression, she opened her eyes and raised her head, only to see Yang Chen looking back at her with a nonchalant expression. The man before her seemed unfamiliar, yet strangely familiar, and his body exuded a rich masculine scent with a hint of debauchery.

Trying to piece together the fragments of memory from the previous night, the woman quickly understood what had transpired.

Curious about how this woman would react once he revealed he knew she wasn't a prostitute, Yang Chen waited for her to scream, curse, call the police, or even demand money. If that was the case, he wouldn't feel guilty at all; she could do whatever she wanted. But if it wasn't for himself, she would have been at the mercy of a group of men in the red-light district.

However, to Yang Chen's surprise, the woman's reaction was oddly calm. She sat up slowly, her naked body exposed to the warm sunshine, revealing a sensuous figure that took Yang Chen's breath away. Her body bore the marks of biting and slapping, and there were even some sticky residues that could only be imagined.

The woman got off the bed without a trace of embarrassment, completely nude, and even her private parts were on full display.

It was this cold and indifferent demeanor that suddenly made Yang Chen feel oppressed. Taking a deep breath, he apologized, "I'm sorry."

The woman turned around to put on her tight-fitting clothes, and upon hearing those three words, she paused momentarily. However, she didn't reply, nor did she turn around, and continued to get dressed.

Yang Chen didn't say anything more, but he felt as though a heavy stone was pressing down on his chest, making it difficult to breathe. It had been years since he last felt this guilty after sleeping with a woman. For most of his life, women were nothing more than a means of comfort, not real human beings. Now, having spent the night with a woman who was obviously more than that, he suddenly felt a complex sense of guilt. He wondered if he had been too relaxed for too long, and his brain had become addled.

In less than five minutes, the woman had already dressed herself and tidied up her appearance to the point that one could hardly detect anything unusual. Then, without a word, she walked out of the door.

Yang Chen saw her leave without saying a word and couldn't help but ask, "Do you need help finding your way? Should I accompany you?"

The woman didn't even pause this time, and walked out the door without a second thought, shutting it behind her.

Staring blankly at the closed door, Yang Chen couldn't help but wryly smile. This woman was truly one of a kind, even in his life experiences. However, just as he was planning to get up, Yang Chen, whose hearing was better than most, heard a sob coming from the hallway...

It seemed that she was still crying, but just didn't want to let herself be seen or heard. Unfortunately, she didn't know that her hearing was far superior to that of an average person, so she wasn't able to avoid him.

Thinking about how the woman had been holding back her tears for that period of time, Yang Chen's sense of guilt grew even stronger.

After tidying up a bit, Yang Chen remembered that he still had his lamb skewer stall to attend to. Although the small business didn't earn much money, he enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle of people coming and going and experiencing the diversity of the world. Money wasn't everything.

Pushing his single-wheeled cart to his stall, Yang arrived to find old Li selling deep-fried sausages. Li greeted him with a smile, "Hey, little Yang, you're late today. Don't tell me you went on a date yesterday?"

Yang thought to himself that he hadn't gone on a date, but he had slept with someone. He responded casually, "No, that's not it. Don't jump to conclusions. I just slept in."

Old Li chuckled, somewhat satisfied, "My daughter Jing Jing finished her internship and came back home. She told me to remember your kindness, little Yang. Without you, our family wouldn't have been able to afford my wife's medical expenses and Jing Jing's expenses to intern in a far-off place. Thank you so much."

Li's daughter Jing Jing was their precious only child who had just graduated from university and was interning in a company in another city. Yang had met her twice before and found her to be a typical beauty of the southern water village. However, she was a friend's daughter, and he didn't want to have any inappropriate thoughts.

"Hehe, don't mention it. If I'm ever broke and hungry, I'll come to you for a free meal," Yang joked.

"Okay!" Old Li suddenly nodded, "I almost forgot. My wife and Jing Jing both said they want to thank you by inviting you to our home for dinner. How about tonight?"

"Well...there's no need. Your family is already struggling. Why would you want to invite me for dinner?" Yang declined.

Old Li pretended to be angry, "What do you mean? Can't we afford to have a guest over for a meal? It'll just be a simple meal, and if you don't come, it'll make us lose face."

Yang couldn't argue with the stubborn old man and reluctantly agreed. Li smiled in satisfaction.

But at that moment, a group of shady-looking figures appeared in the alleyway once again. When they saw Yang and Li, the leader of the gang grinned sinisterly.
