Chapter 32

Dinner at Yvette's was lovely. She made jalapeño poppers, seafood paella and a delicious chocolate pie for dessert.

The whole Garcia clan was welcoming. Yvette's husband, Anton Garcia welcomed me with open arms and her son, David Garcia was cute in a next door boy kind of way.

I pretended to be happy, but really I was thinking about Geoff the whole time. I wasn't very good company that night, but no one pointed that out, and for that I was extremely grateful. I would definitely do dinner again with them and I hoped Yvette would invite me again...maybe when I wasn't feeling so down.

I thanked Yvette for dinner, said my goodbyes and drove back home. I jumped out of my truck and wiped away my tears. God, I was miserable. It's like someone is piercing a blunt knife through my chest over and over again. As soon as I walked through the front door, Geoff was on me, pinning me to the wall beside the front door, which was miraculously closed.
