Chapter 10

Felicia grabbed the grenade, throwing it out the window just in the nick of time.

The grenade exploded when it hit the ground, leaving a gaping hole where her mailbox had once stood.

“Holy hell.” Kirk panted. “This just keeps getting more and more exciting, doesn’t it?”

Felicia didn’t answer. Instead, she ran outside, where a small group of people had gathered.

“It was like a freaking bomb went off!” One of her neighbors exclaimed.

One of Felicia’s other neighbors, an older woman, approached Felicia, asking her if she was alright, and Felicia assured her that she wasn’t hurt, merely shaken up. Police sirens sounded in the distance. She didn’t really feel like dealing with the cops two days in a row, but she also knew that it would seem suspicious if she were to leave.

Luckily, this officer was much nicer than the one that she had dealt with the night before.
