Chapter 17 ("Those Untold Tales")
David awoke from his hour-long midnight nap as Daniele was snoring her way out of a sound sleep.
David remembers the first miscarriage she experienced after nine months of hoping and waiting. They have been covering the cost of monthly prenatal checkups and ultrasounds to ensure Daniele and the unborn child are secure.
She receives a warm hug from him, and he cuddles her as he muses, "Perhaps she's been fatigued because of our whole days' outside activities with the staff who work for our application."
"I even summoned her to buy pregnancy vitamins and maternity clothes daily since she was so excited to get a white cloth and baby gear and embroider it with initials for her baby's name," David dries his tears with a blanket as he muses on the lost past.
