Chapter Thirty-nine [Changes in the Wind]
Daniele's comments about David softly kill her since she can't stand to watch him with someone else.
She would rather perish than witness him having an affair with a different lady who will serve as a replacement for her in his affection. Daniele is crying out in pain. Her heart is urging her, even as her intellect is rejecting it.
Daniele screams softly,
"Oh, my God! What have I done that I have to face this type of pain?" she sobs quietly.
Although they are already driving through the sidewalks and there are plenty of sellers, cars, and people in the city proper, David is too preoccupied to notice her suffering.
"Honey, don't stress yourself out too much because it will harm our unborn kid inside your womb," David warned her,
"Because I can feel the depression in your eyes since you hardly can see, and because your eyes are swollen from crying so much.” He adds,
