Chapter Twenty

As we got closer to the house I had a whiff of a familiar scent. I inhaled deeply to make sure my unstable senses were not deceiving me. The closer we got, the stronger the scent was. The saddest part is that I couldn't place a finger on who or what it was. Curiosity and anticipation were slowly killing me as I stood behind Damian waiting for him to slide the door open..

As soon as the door crept open, I was certain to whom the scent belonged. I followed my instincts down into what looked like the kitchen despite the faint calls of my name behind. As I stepped into the kitchen, my eyes immediately fell on him crouched on the counter, mouth glued to the glass tip. His muscles bulging out of the grey short-sleeved shirt he wore.
